Obj. 1: Research on socially aware networking technologies in P2P architectures for efficient real-time broadcast & content distribution over the internet in a highly personalized, collaborative, network efficient and media quality guaranteed framework

Obj. 2: Research on scalable source and channel coding, as well as networked multiple description video coding methods. The aim is to enhance available scalable video coding and better handle networking issues to optimize quality in collaborative P2P media networks

Obj. 3: Research on combined optimization policies of content, coding, network for optimizing real-time media streaming in P2P topologies, supporting different levels of Quality of Service (QoS) and maintaining media experience in a networked efficient framework

Obj. 4: Research on real-time distribution of personalised and contextual adaptable media streams supporting high Quality of Experience levels over heterogeneous access networks in a networked optimized framework

Obj. 5: Work towards the standardisation of obtained results in the area of scalable multiple description coding, combined policies of content network and coding

Obj. 6: Research on novel charging schemes and business models incorporating QoS aspects and incentives, tailored to the needs of the use of P2P architectures

User profilerepository

The Design and implementation of a prototype platform for offering Quality of Experience (QoE) in personalised media streaming through the integration of scalable media coding techniques, advanced media transport protocols, and P2P technologies with respect to user privacy.

In most of cases, standard encoding for the media streams will be used.
