Governance at IBM 2012 - 2014

Responsibilities• Resolve issues preventing

successful deployment at account & tool level

• Track & report metrics on deployments for assigned tools to VPs monthly / weekly

• Assist in setting annual targets & ensuring targets are met

• Ensure tool PMs follow governance standards in deployment of automation tools

Accomplishments• Within first six months, worked

with program manager to get 17 red accounts set to more realistic targets and issues resolved. Accounts moved back to green within 6 months.

• By second year, responsible for oversight of 9 different automation tools - 3 of them, high visibility tools

• Coached 2 PMs in project management methodology to improve success of tool deployments

Social Media Reporting (Secondary Role for Governance Position) 2013 - 2014

Responsibilities• Migration of paper reporting to

online system.• Migrate public access wiki

hosted by vendor to internal site, add all non-confidential content and links to database material and portal to public wiki

• Create & maintained Community with additional reporting wikis, blog, file sharing, and other social networking tools.

Accomplishments• Migrated & maintained the

reporting of weekly status to a controlled access wiki, created training, presented to director, VP and rolled out as pilot to select group of tools, then available to all tools/PMs.

• Created an activity to manage deployment activities and all input before, during and after by major stakeholders (including pre & post surveys, as well as lessons learned). Provided training and presented idea to champion.

cost resources to augment US team• Define & maintain processes /

procedures to engage, maintain, & release resources, perform escalation, establish & maintain offshore lab using

• Create & deliver training materials needed for program users & resources

• Resolve all global resource related issues

• Measure savings recovered by using global resources monthly

• Track resource usage, attrition, country usage trends, etc.

• Make recommendations based on expert knowledge of the industry, location and current landscape

• Ensure organization, accounts are compliant with export regulations and company standards in their usage of global resources

Accomplishments• Saved ~50% of the time in

requesting resources by eliminating 3 required documents & all redundancy; collaborated with developer to create a database tool for submitting resource requests.

• Managed oversight of ~350 global resources in 2012 in Latin America & Eastern Europe

• Owned, authored the compliance document for internal work for non-IBM, non-client work

• Created two tools for 1)measuring the risk of a geography and 2) assisting in the selection of a geography based on weighted priority

• Submitted & presented papers 3 consecutive years to the Academy of Technology Collaboration Conference. Also served on the board for 5 years.
