This quarter:
And just like that it’s the Christmas Season. Our Poinsettia Sale
is in full swing! Practicing for the Christmas program has already
began and the youth had a great time kicking of the season with the
Torchlight Parade. We decorated the fire truck and made cotton
candy to hand out to the parade goers. My pic at the top was taken
as the last bag was filled during our cotton candy making. I think all of
us enjoyed watching the cotton candy float through the air :) We’ll
be having an all league Christmas party on December 9th from
1230PM– 230PM. We’ll do some Christmas caroling and make
Christmas treats for Pastor to deliver on his home visits. Camp
Omega has fun events on December 28 to help break up Christmas vacation. In February is our big Sweetheart Spaghetti
Supper fundraiser and our Ski Trip to Mount Kato. Keep an eye
on the youth bulletin board at church, our youth facebook page and
on remind for details and sign up info. Wishing everyone a blessed
Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

We had a pumpkin carving party right before
Halloween. We carved and decorated
pumpkins, did Halloween crafts and decorated
cupcakes! The kids looked great in their
costumes. The party was finished off with
Halloween BINGO with lots of Halloween
candy prizes.
PUMPKIN CARVING PARTY
Every year our youth group stuffs shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. These shoeboxes are
delivered to children in need. The boxes are filled with school supplies, small toys, personal care items like
toothbrushes, soap and wash clothes, and brushes. While many boxes go overseas we were very happy to
find out that Operation Christmas Child sends shoeboxes to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South
Dakota. This is the reservation we served at during our Mission Trip this past summer. This year the youth
group stuffed 24 shoes boxes.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
There is an abundance of formal dresses in the youth office thanks Kassidy K starting a
Becca’s closet chapter here at St John’s. St John’s was featured in the South Eastern MN
Synod newsletter, be sure to check out the details in the church newsletter. We are the only
Minnesota chapter for Becca’s closet. Kassidy maintains the Montgomery area Becca’s closet
facebook page with pictures and sizes of all the dress we have been so blessed to receive. She
also posts all of the open closet opportunities, times when girls can come and try on dresses .
Please help us spread the word about this great program making sure every girl gets a beautiful
dress to wear to her formal event.
Ann & Steve
Schroeder have a
Fire Truck that they
put in the parade for
us! It was so much fun.
We couldn’t have
