Family is the basic unity of society and includes two or more people joined by blood, marriage, adoption, or a desire to support one another. There are different types of families.

How Families Help Their Members

A family provides physical needs like food, water or shelter. It also takes care of mental and emotional needs.

Families nurture each other by providing physical, mental, emotional and social needs.

Your family helps you develop your values and beliefs.

Roles and Responsibilities

Parents provide a place to live, food and other basic needs to their children. They are also expected to teach their children and provide love and support.

Children are expected to cooperate and respect their parents. They often have chores to help support the family.

A person’s role is always growing and changing throughout his/her life.

People from strong families feel connected and enjoy spending time together.
