Our Focus The Critical Home Repair Programfocuses primarily on repair and/or rehabprojects that will improve the quality oflife for the homeowner and provide adecent home to live in. The result is a holistic approach thatrevitalizes the appearance of theneighborhood, encourages connectionswithin the community, and helpspreserve affordable housing stock.

A Hand up, not a Hand out! Habitat for Humanity offers volunteerlabor at no cost, and provides anaffordable loan to qualified homeownersfor the cost of materials. The homeowner must be able to pay a0% interest loan for the work done on thehome through affordable monthlypayments. Payments will be based onthe homeowner's income and agreedupon at the signing of the contract.

What Work Can We Do?Our Critical Home Repair Program focuses onhome repair services such as:

Repairs must address critical needs in a homethat threaten health, safety, security, and oraccessibility If you are not sure if your project qualifies,please call us at: 262-338-0690

Am I Eligible? Habitat's Critical Home Repair Programpartners with low-income, elderly, veteran,and disabled homeowners based on need andscope of the work.

Applicant must own and occupy the homethat needs the work for at least two years.

Home must be in Washington or DodgeCounties and be covered by currenthomeowner's insurance.

Applicant must earn between 30% and 55%of the county's median income for familysize. (see our website for income guidelines)

Applicant must be unable to afford thenecessary home repairs and unable tocomplete them due to age, disability, orcircumstance.

The applicant must be willing to partner withHabitat for Humanity by participating in theproject as they are able.
