We are now using an app to send instant messages, newsletters and notices. From term 1 in 2017, the WHOLE SCHOOL will be using this app. It’s called tiqbiz. The tiqbiz app will help our school keep parents fully informed and up-to-date with newsletters, notices, news and events. It’s easy to use and also has the benefit of helping reduce our paper consumption by printing less. Therefore, starting in Term 1 2017, we will not be printing and handing out paper newsletters to students on Thursdays anymore. The newsletter will be sent through a push notification on the school app tiqbiz. But if you still require a hard copy, there will be some printed and kept in the office area each week. At the beginning of the school year in 2017, you will receive a pamphlet that explains exactly how to download and join your child’s grade box. These pamphlets will also give you the code you will need to join your child’s grade box. This year, we have already had many parents from the Foundation team and 1/2 Grades join us in the trial of the app, and it has been a very success- ful trial. We look forward to easier and faster communication with you, and to share your child’s school life with you on tiqbiz in 2017! If you have any questions, please see your child’s classroom teacher or myself. Mrs Silvia Menelaou - eLearning Leader @ MHPS Christmas Raffle 2016 The Christmas Raffle has begun! IMPORTANT INFORMATION

BOOKPACK-EXCURSION/INCURSION PAYMENT FOR 2017

Dear Parents

School Council has approved a one off payment charge of $160 per student. (For all students this will include

the purchase of your child’s book pack, specialist supplies etc and up to 4 paid excursions/incursions)

Bookpack collection day 2017

Monday 30th January 2017

Between 10am – 12.30pm or 2pm to 3pm

Bookpacks must be collected on this day

Over many years Meadow Heights Primary School has ensured that children have access to the best possible

educational experiences that the school could provide.

The policy of the school is that all children have access to the programs, facilities, equipment and materials

needed to allow them to reach their educational potential. The cost associated with delivering our programs in

2017 will be in excess of $300 per child, including discounts for some excursions, subsidies for the school

camp and the school year book.

It is vital that all parents understand that while the Government provides many of the school’s educational

resources such as facilities and teachers, it does not cover the cost of consumables and extra educational

opportunities that the school puts in place to assist individual students.

The school council through the Principal and teachers have an ongoing commitment to the school community to

provide the best possible educational opportunity for each child who attends the school and they expect that all

parents have the same level of commitment to their child education.
