NC and PLC functions, operatorfunctions and machine data are com-patible between, say, a SINUMERIK840D and a SINUMERIK 840Di, andthe relevant NC and PLC programsrun on both systems. And since thesystem is so open, the software ap-plications can also be used on bothsystems. SINUMERIK 840Di is part ofthe automation environment ofSIMATIC® and SIMODRIVE®.
