Dear Rye Brook Resident, Rye Brook Recreation is committed to providing quality recreation programs. In the winter months, our recreation programs are usually moved inside the schools, Bellefair gym and the Anthony J. Posillipo Community Center to get our partici-pants out of the frigid temperatures. The year 2020 has thrown some major Covid-19 curveballs at us and we are forced to rethink the programming that we are offer-ing. We are unable to be indoors for our basketball program, so we will be doing a modified basketball season outdoors in the early spring at Pine Ridge Park. We have been forced to cancel our Winterfest event and are trying to find ways to get our residents to recreate in a safe environment. Rye Brook Recreation will be offering a virtual community paint day on Jan-uary 10th and February 7th. Residents will be given the opportunity to reserve a spot with a canvas and participate from home (via zoom) under the guidance of a professional instructor. The Village of Rye Brook will be conducting a holiday home decorating contest during the holiday season and will award prizes in four dif-ferent categories on December 17th. In January, the recreation department will be running a flag football program for youth in grades 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12on Rye Brook Athletic Fields on weekend afternoons. In addition, there will be other virtu-al programs that we will be working on throughout the winter and will be communi-cating to you via our email system on a weekly basis. On-line registration for winter activities will begin on Monday, December 7th. For all outside contractor program registration, you may register on-line and mail your payment to the Recreation office. If your payment is not received within 7 days, your registration will be cancelled and we will accept the next wait-listed fami-ly. If you do not have access to a computer, our recreation staff will guide you through the process. Your data entry will allow us to get the recreation information to your household in an efficient and timely manner. To register for programs, simply go to the Village’s website at www.ryebrook.org, scroll down the home page and you will see a section that will prompt you to register for programs. This link will bring you to Community Pass to register. Coming this Spring, the recreation department will be conducting our bas-ketball league in the park on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. In addition, once the modified basketball season is complete, we will jump right into our Little League season. The North East Flag Football (NEFFL) program will be returning to Rye Brook on Sunday mornings on the Rye Brook Athletic Field. The NEFFL is primed to provide young players a fun exciting opportunity to engage in non-contact contin-uous action while developing skills and learning lessons in teamwork. We hope that Rye Brook Recreation is meeting your recreational needs. I join my staff in wishing you and your families a healthy and rewarding 2021 New Year and hope that things return to somewhat normalcy and look forward to seeing you at some of our many recreational activities. Happy Holidays, Robert Bertolacci Parks and Recreation Superintendent

Coaches will attend a mandatory coaches clinic to en-
hance their ability to teach the skills to our Little
Leaguers. There will be practices built into the first half
of the season on a weekly basis.
Rye Brook Little League will have a dedicated website.
The website will be the location to go to find out your
league standings, scores, rosters, cancellations and sta-
tistics.
The opening day parade will take place on Saturday
May 1, 2021. Rye Brook Little League will once again
place teams in the District 20 tournament vying for a
chance to play in the Little League World Series in Wil-
liamsport Pennsylvania. To qualify for a chance to
make the team, individuals must be registered for Little
League, participate in a minimum of 60% of the games
and be available from June through August.
The minor league baseball program will utilize a pitch-
ing machine for all league games. There will be clinics
every Friday afternoon emphasizing pitching, hitting
and fielding. We are also working with Port Chester
Little League And Irvington Recreation on an inter-
league schedule.
The 2021 Rye Brook Little League will have playoffs for

Rye Brook Parks and Recreation is gearing up for the Winter. Though the weather outside might have become colder, it is still important to exercise and do some cardio. Let's get outside and track our walking mileage. Being outside and exercising is good for the heart and mind! It is important to make some time to recreate! If the weather outside is frightful, let’s get on our treadmills and track steps indoors. The month of January will be our walking challenge month. Let’s check the weather reports before going out, check weather conditions and dress appropriately (bright colors). If the weather is not conducive to walking outside, let’s get our workout indoors. Most mobile phones have some kind of tracker for walking mileage or you can use a sophisticated walking app to do your tracking. The important thing is getting in your steps. Email the recreation department your daily results along with your age category by 9:00pm to [email protected] and we will track the monthly results. Each week, we will post a leaderboard on our web-site so we can see how everyone else compares. We will have the following age categories: 5-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-50, 51-64, 65+.
