Even though it is actually pretty difficult for an individual to buy or sell it, lots of people suffer from illnesses related to mercury.

Due to the health effects of mercury exposure, industrial and commercial uses are regulated in lots of countries.

Case control studies have shown effects such as tremors, impaired cognitive skills, and sleep disturbance in people who work with exposure to mercury vapor .

Small exposure to mercury vapor has been shown to result in profound central nervous system effects, including hallucinations, suicidal tendency.

With continuing exposure, a tremor develops and may escalate to violent muscular spasms. Tremor initially involves the hands and later spreads to the eyelids, lips, and the tongue. Long-term, minor exposure has been associated with more subtle symptoms including fatigue, irritability, loss of memory, vivid dreams and depression

You can also get mercury poisoning if you have a cheap thermometer in your mouth when when you're sick and it leaks liquid mercury out in your mouth

Hypervitaminosis is a major condition of abnormally high storage levels of vitamins, which can lead to toxic symptoms. The medical names of the different conditions are derived from the vitamin involved: an excess of vitamin A, for example, is called hypervitaminosis A

Generally, toxic levels of vitamins/minerals are achieved through high amounts taken in and not from dietary sources. Toxicities of fat-soluble vitamins can also be caused by a large intake of highly fortified foods, but foods rarely deliver these severe levels of fat-soluble vitamins.
