Gorgeous weather helped bring out staff from all over campus for the United Way Fair, held Sept. 13 on the plaza. Staff even came from the Newington campus, thanks to a special United Way shuttle run. There were 16 vendors with items including crafts, jewel- ry, and clothing. Total proceeds were more than $1,800 for the United Way. There was a raffle, and 26 lucky prize winners (a complete list of winners is on the United Way intranet page). The two grand prize winners were Chantell Smith/C9I: reserved park- ing space in an employee garage for a year, and Glenn Bouthillier/C9I: choice time day off and a gift card from Angelo’s Restaurant. The United Way Campaign ends this Friday. The number of employ- ees and the total dollars pledged are down from last year. To make the campaign successful, we need ev- eryone to pitch in. Our participation goal is 35% and our pledge goal is $230,000. So far, only 13% of our em- ployees have contributed. Pledging is easy using our eWay Pledge site, or using a paper form (available through your campaign champion or department head). Remember, everyone who pledges will be placed in a drawing for some great prizes, with special prizes for first-time donors, and donors who increase their pledge from last year, including a choice time day off and assigned parking spaces in the em- ployee garages. Dr. Patri-cia Shein-er, direc-tor of the transplantation program, served as the Walk Committee chair. Debera Palmeri, transplant program liver coordinator, led the HH Leaping Livers.
