Launched in September 2015 the RV Mekong Princess is a luxurious river vessel perfect for exploring the Mekong in comfort. The vessel features 14 elegant and spacious suites, the inviting Ramvong Lounge and an outdoor Observation

Lounge with comfortable deck furniture, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the passing scenery. Other facilities include the

Princess Spa, offering a selection of rejuvenating treatments and massages, a boutique shop and a fitness centre with panoramic views. The 28 friendly staff provide excellent service and will do their utmost to ensure you have an

enjoyable experience.

AIR-CONDITIONINGAll public rooms and suites on board are air-conditioned. Adjustable climate control allows you to regulate the temperature in your own suite. For maximum efficiency, keep windows and doors closed whenever the air-conditioning is switched on.

ALARMAn alarm will be sounded in the event of an emergency. Please follow the instructions provided on board for what to do in the event of an emergency.

ALL ABOARDThe daily programme specifies the ship’s arrival and departure times in the various ports visited each day. When participating in shore excursions, our tour guides will ensure that you return to the ship in time for departure. Should you decide to explore on your own, please return to the ship no later than the ALL ABOARD TIME indicated on that day’s daily programme.

ANNOUNCEMENTSThe ship is equipped with a PA system. Announcements will be made during an emergency situation.

BAR/BEVERAGESComplimentary tea, coffee, select soft drinks, and local spirits and beer are available throughout the day. Premium drinks are available for purchase. Bar service is also provided on the Observation Deck. Please check that your name and suite number are correctly indicated on all receipts when signing for purchases made.

SUITE FACILITIES All suites feature luxury cotton, spa quality robe, slippers and bath amenities, pillow menu, electronic safe, individual climate control, luxury cotton linens with duvet, premium mattresses, bottled water replenished daily, multi-configuration plugs, generous closet space and under-bed storage, hairdryer and flat-screen television with satellite TV channels. Please note that TV channels may not be available in some areas where the satellite signal is weak.

The Apsara Suites, Junior Suites and Saigon Suites have a convertible bed configuration and can be made up as twin or double beds. The Angkor and Tonle Suites feature a fixed king sized bed.

CRUISE DIRECTORThe ship’s professional, English-speaking Cruise Director will look after your comfort and answer any questions. A Noble Caledonia Tour Manager will also accompany you on your voyage. Please do not hesitate to contact them at any time.

CURRENCYThe official currency on board the RV Mekong Princess is the US Dollar. During the cruise, the ship operates a cashless system, with all purchases billed to your onboard account. At the end of the cruise, bills may be settled in cash with US Dollars or by credit card with Visa or MasterCard in Vietnamese Dong. The RV Mekong Princess does not provide a currency exchange service, nor is there an ATM on board. It is advisable to bring crisp, new, undamaged bills, as tears and obvious wear may cause banks and local businesses to refuse them. In Phnom Penh, about halfway through the cruise, you will find multiple options for obtaining US dollars at both Cambodian and international banks, ATMs, and wire services. ATMs are widely available in Vietnam, as well, but will only provide Vietnamese Dong.

DAILY PROGRAMMEThe daily programme is printed on board and delivered to your suite each evening during dinner. It provides details of the following day’s programme, meal times and other activities, as well as interesting and helpful information about your next port of call.

DRESS CODEThe dress code on board is casual and comfortable by day and smart casual for dinner. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes for shore excursions. Please note that many places on this itinerary require that knees and shoulders are covered and that shoes be removed. Reminders of these instances will be noted in your evening briefings and in the daily programmes.

DRINKSBottled water is available in your suite and is replenished daily. Complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks, local beer, local spirits and house wine are included with lunch and dinner on board (wine with dinner only).

ELECTRICITYThe voltage in both Vietnam and Cambodia is officially 220/50Hz. To use any electrical product from the US that is not dual voltage, you will need an electrical converter. The ship has multi-configuration outlets, which accommodate most western plugs.

EMBARKATION/DISEMBARKATIONEmbarkation is approximately 4.00 pm, unless advised otherwise. The official embarkation time will be advised in your final documentation. The official disembarkation time is between 7.30 and 8.00 am, however your Cruise Director will provide detailed information prior to the end of the cruise. This will include departure transfer information.

EMERGENCY AND SAFETY PROCEDURESA safety evacuation plan is posted on your suite door. Please take a few minutes to familiarise yourself with your closest emergency exit and indicated routes to all Muster Stations. Please speak to your Cruise Director if you miss the safety briefing or if you are unclear of the emergency procedure.

FIRE SAFETYOn your suite door is a deck plan displaying your closest (and all other) emergency exits. Emergency exits are marked in green and fire extinguishers fitted in all corridors. An alarm button is fitted in your suite should an emergency arise. Should you detect fire or smoke please alert the reception desk immediately and await instructions from the crew.

FIRST AIDA number of crew are fully trained and certified to provide First Aid. Further medical assistance can be sought from one of the hospitals along the river in the event of emergency. Please note there is no doctor on board.

FITNESS ROOMThe small fitness room offers modern equipment in a comfortable atmosphere, with floor-to-ceiling windows so guests may exercise without missing a moment of the beautiful Mekong River scenery. The fitness room is open from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm daily.

GIFT SHOPThere is a boutique gift shop on board selling a selection of local handicrafts. Kindly note that the ship is prohibited to sell or supply any prescription medications on board.

HAIRDRYEREach suite is equipped with a hairdryer.

HYGIENEIn the interest of your health, a strict sanitisation protocol is enforced on board the ship. To assist the ship in this important matter, we kindly ask all guests to consistently use the hand sanitiser when entering the dining room at all meal times, the lounge and every time you come back aboard the ship.

HOT TUB/SWIMMING POOLThere is no hot tub or pool on board.

HOUSEKEEPINGYour suite will be serviced twice-daily: a morning service and an evening turndown service.

KEYS TO SUITEEach suite will receive their own key. Before leaving the ship we kindly ask all passengers to swap the suite key with a shore pass which will be provided to you by the ship’s reception desk. After your return to the ship, please exchange your shore pass for your suite key at reception.

LAUNDRYA laundry bag and price list is available in your closet. Please leave the laundry bag and completed list on your bed and the housekeeping attendant will collect it during the morning or evening service. Generally, laundry service requires a 24-hour turnaround time. Please note that there is no dry cleaning service available on board and that the laundry service is not available the day before disembarkation.

LIFTThere is no lift on board.

LOST PROPERTYLost property should be handed to the ship’s reception. Please ensure you have all of your belongings with you before you return home. Should you leave items on board the ship we are only able to return them at your own cost.

LOUNGE/LIBRARYThe Ramvong Lounge on the Upper Deck provides a full-service cocktail bar with ‘mixologist’ bartenders as well as tea and coffee. There is also an open library in the lounge with a selection of fiction and non-fiction books including literature about the Mekong River and its surrounding countries.

MEALSUsing locally-sourced, fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables, some of which are rarely seen elsewhere, the Chef and his team will ensure each meal is an experience to delight all of your senses. Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style, with a variety of Asian and western dishes. The multi-course dinners are paired with wine, and offer a selection of healthy, local dishes, as well as western favourites. If you have any dietary requirements such as vegetarian, low salt, gluten free or low cholesterol, please notify the Reservations Department at Noble Caledonia. We regret that not all dietary requests can be guaranteed. If you have any specific or special foods that you require we recommend that you take some with you although we will endeavour to accommodate your needs. Once on board please speak to the Chef or the Maitre D’ at dinner on your first night to reconfirm your requirements.

MOSQUITOES/INSECT PRECAUTIONSWhile you can expect to encounter insects during your trip, most are relatively harmless. Switching off lights when exiting your suite, and ensuring that glass or screen doors or windows are closed at all times will minimise the number of insects allowed into your room. On the fast-moving river, mosquitoes are rarely seen while sailing. If planning to be outside in the early morning or evening hours, applying an insect repellent to exposed skin is recommended.

OBSERVATION AREAThe observation area is comfortably outfitted with chairs, loungers and sun beds. This area may be closed in the evenings and/or overnight to ensure your safety.

OPERATIONAL CHANGESSometimes it is necessary to make amendments to the itinerary, both for logistical and safety reasons. The Master of the vessel will decide if necessary.

PAYMENTS ON BOARDThe currency used on board is the US Dollar. At the end of the cruise you will be presented with your final bill for onboard purchases. This can be settled in cash in US Dollars or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard). All credit card payments will be charged in Vietnamese Dong based on the exchange rate of the day. Travellers’ Cheques and personal cheques are not accepted.

POSTPlease note that although the reception staff may be happy to post letters and postcards on your behalf, they may not be able to do so straightaway or indeed at the port of call at which you make such a request. Please also note that some postal services are unreliable and that any letters or postcards that you ask to be delivered on your behalf may be delayed or even lost en-route. Staff cannot be held liable for such occurrences and we would recommend that you post your own letters or postcards to be more certain of their prompt delivery.

QUESTIONNAIRESWe are always looking for ways to improve our holidays and the services provided and in order to do this we welcome feedback from our guests. Your comments are important to us therefore we request that you complete the questionnaire that will be provided to you by your Tour Manager.

QUIETVOX/AUDIO SYSTEMYou will be provided with individual audio devices to use on shore excursions for the duration of the cruise. This device enables you to clearly hear the guide’s commentary so you can enjoy each tour to the fullest. The audio device can be found in your suite in a charger unit on the desk. Please make sure to always re-insert the device once you return to your room to ensure it is fully charged for the next day.

SPA SALONThe Princess Spa is an oasis where relaxation and pampering are offered. Located on the Main Deck, the Princess Spa is every spa-lover’s dream. With the most extensive spa menu of any ship on the Mekong River, guests can rejuvenate both mind and body. The highly-trained spa therapists offer several types of massages, facials, scrubs, and body wraps, and will customise a treatment to fit each guest’s specific needs. Each guest aboard the RV Mekong Princess receives one free, one-hour spa treatment during the cruise.

SPA & MASSAGEPlease ask the Cruise Director or Purser to set up an appointment for a massage or spa treatment. A menu of available spa treatments can be found in your suite.

SAFEYour suite is equipped with a small safe for your personal use. We recommend placing valuables in the safe whenever you are away from your room. Please remember to remove all items from the safe and leave the safe open before disembarking.

SAFETYIn accordance with international law, the Captain has full control over the ship and every person on board must obey his lawful commands. Captains have the authority to take any action deemed necessary to manage situations where guests are verbally or physically disruptive towards any other person on board or otherwise causing problems during the cruise. There is a zero tolerance policy regarding such disruptions as the safety of our guests, crew and the ship remains our first priority.

SMOKINGThe ship enjoys a non-smoking environment in all public areas and suites, including balconies. Smoking is only allowed on the aft section of the Sun Deck, behind the bar. When smoking on the Sun Deck, please use the ashtrays provided to discard the cigarette butts and do not throw them overboard. Every suite and public area on board is equipped with an automatic heat and smoke detector.

SPECIAL CELEBRATIONS If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary, during your time on board, we will be happy to honour the event. Please advise the Cruise Director or Restaurant Manager.

TOILETRIESSpa quality bath amenities are supplied in all suites.

VISITORSVisitors are not permitted aboard the vessel without the prior consent of the Cruise Director. Please provide as much notice as possible to the Cruise Director so that the necessary arrangements can be made. The ship’s operator reserves the right to deny boarding to any visitors.

WATERPlease do not drink the tap water while on board or ashore. The ship’s water supply comes from the river after passing through a sterilization process. This water is sufficient for bathing, but should not be consumed. Complimentary water is provided for consumption, and additional bottled water will be made available free of charge on excursions. To save water and reduce detergent use, the ship will only change towels daily if they are placed on the bathroom floor.

WI-FIYou may use your Wi-Fi compatible devices in all public areas to send and receive emails. Internet service is generally not available due to the remote locations of our destinations, but can be available when close to larger cities.
