Meet some our amazing volunteers from the community who give up their  me to support programs, help our students and staff and

enrich the lives of those they spend  me with.  We are always apprecia ve of their  me and grateful that they take the  me to make a

difference.  Thank you!

JUDY

Why do you volunteer? I enjoy helping the kids and coming here to this school.

What are your hobbies? I like to sew, do cooking and spend  me with my

grandchildren.

Do you enjoy cooking with us and why? I like to teach you all new skills.

What’s your favourite thing about this place? It’s just awesome!

JANET

Why do you volunteer? Because I like to be able to help teach the children how

to cook different things.  I taught my own children how to cook.

What are your hobbies? I like cooking and kni ng.

How did you come to be a volunteer at our school? My next door neighbour

told me that your school was looking for volunteers and suggested I might like to

come along, which I did and I really enjoy it.

If you could tell other people about being

a volunteer in our community, what

would you tell them? It’s very rewarding.

CHRIS

Why do you volunteer at RPS? Because my sister suggested I might like to.

What are your hobbies? Crosswords

Do you enjoy cooking with us and why? I like working with the kids and shar-

ing my knowledge with them.   We have some funny  mes and I just enjoy it.

What’s your favourite thing to do during this me? I get to share the meal

with the kids and share in their culinary delights.

What would tell others about being a

volunteer? Give it a go, it’s very enjoyable.

BARB

What do you love about Rutherglen Primary School? The kids are nice and it’s a

good place to be

Why do come here to volunteer? Same reason as above

What is your favourite thing to do out of school? Spend  me with my kids.

What do you think when kids lick the spoon? It is alright, but not too much

because of diabetes and tooth decay.

The appeal of Snapchat is

its supposed invisibility.

Once a message or picture

is ‘snapped,’ it instantly

evaporates into cyber-

space—supposedly never

to be seen again. The idea

that those messages are

a no on that o en gets

Report bullying or other harassing messages to parents.

While Snapchat is the most popular social app for teens, the app isn’t for everyone. The allure of disappearing messages lulls users into a false sense of security to snap and chat messages that perhaps they normally would not send. In the cyber world, however, nothing is really gone for good.

Grandparents

Day

Term 4 Grandparents day was the best day

ever. Okay let me tell you everything, it

started off at 12:00. I came inside and did

not see my Poppy straight away. He came

and we played games. The 3/4s made

scones for everyone

-Milan Whyte

I played board games with my special

person, it was fun. We had a book fair

with lots of books.

-Charli Collis

Grandparent’s day was so fun! There were

lots of grandparents that come. I enjoyed

the story that Freda Turner read to us.

-Lachlan Jarre

I loved showing my learning to my grand-

ma. We played games and read books

which was fun.

-Will Torney
