RULE #2: DO NOT PUT A COMMA AFTER A LITTLE INTRODUCTORY PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE (1 , 2 , OR 3 WORDS) UNLESS IT IS NEEDED FOR CLARITY.
EXAMPLE #2:IN BASKETBALL , UNIFORMS ARE TWO -PIECE OUTFITS. (TWO -WORD INTRO. PREP. PHRASE NEEDS COMMA FOR CLARITY. WITHOUT THE COMMA WE READ, " IN BASKETBALL UNIFORMS. . . " . )

In your notes on prepositional phrases, identify the prepositional phrase in each sentence and determine whether or not it needs a comma.
1. After his long nap in the backyard hammock Alex felt refreshed.
2. Before bed make sure you brush your teeth.3. Until the spring conditioning for basketball
will be grueling.4. By the end of the day everyone’s feet hurt
from the long hike.5. Down a winding dirt road there is a little café
