The BodyGuard Proximity Alert system provides a cost effective solution for industrialcollision avoidance solution for applications that involve moving Machinery, HeavyVehicles and Forklifts, Utility Vehicles and/or personnel.

BodyGuard works by setting up an invisible shield around the object being protected.

BodyGuard uses a specially coded digital radio transmission between systemcomponents. Whenever this invisible field is penetrated by another object that is fittedwith a BodyGuard unit, an alarm is activated to warn the driver/operator to pay attention.

The BodyGuard proximity alarm system can be used to protect people, vehicles andproperty and has wide ranging applications that involve personnel, forklifts, cranes,heavy Vehicles, moving machinery etc.

The BodyGuard proximity alarm system is user-configurable. The user can set thedesired protection zone range around each object as required for the application.

The BodyGuard system will detect objects right through smoke, fog, or dust. It isimmune to interference by heat, sound or dust.

BodyGuard Components include:

Personnel Tag Unit: This Tag is worn byyour personnel or site visitors. The devicecan be attached to a hard Hat or worn on thebelt. This is a transmit-only device that isdetected by other BodyGuard Devices.

Sensor / Vehicle Unit: This device transmits adigitally coded radio signal that other units candetect as well as receives and process codedsignals from other Sensor or Tag units. Fittedto moving vehicles such as forklift, utilityvehicles, haul road trucks, the unit detectsother BodyGuard devices as well as transmitssignals that can be detected by otherBodyGuard Devices.

Fixed Unit: This unit is typically installedaround work areas, door ways andpedestrian access ways.

How the BodyGuard System Works

All Sensor Units and Personal Tag Units continuously transmit specially coded digitalsignals. Sensor Units are also continuously monitoring transmissions from other SensorUnits and Personal Tag Units.

Whenever a Personal Tag Unit or Sensor Unit enters the user-defined protected zone of aparticular Sensor Unit, that Sensor Unit will activate the Alarm Relay contacts. When thedetected object’s moves outside the protection zone, the alarm relay contacts will open.

The Alarm Relay contacts are typically used to activate an audible siren or flashing strobelight as an indication that the protection zone has been penetrated by another object.

The Alarm Relay operation has been designed to be Fail-Safe and satisfies L.I.Srequirements for mining and other industrial applications. If for any reason the SensorUnit (or a Control Unit) fails to operate correctly, the Alarm Relay contacts will close.

Multiple Sensor Units may be installed on a vehicle to provide coverage at front, rear, leftand right.

Beacon Unit: Battery powered unit that transmits only. This is amoveable device (Cone) that is useful for protecting your temporaryhazardous zones and keep-out areas.

Control Unit: This unit enables multiple sensors to be fitted ona large vehicle and provides logging of all proximitynotifications from the Sensor Units on the vehicle. This unit canbe configured using a PDA, Tablet or Laptop Computer.
