Rug Stains
By: Kim Bellis
Purpose: To find out what cleaner works best.
Hypothesis: I think that Oxiclean will work the best on most of the stains. If I put the stain on for four minutes then
Oxiclean will get more of the stain out.Independent Variable: The two
different kind of cleaners, Oxiclean and Woolite
Dependent Variable: The stains that were left

Data Ranking
• On my data it is ranked out of 5, as you can see Oxiclean is better. Oxiclean does have some weak spots.
• The average of the scores are Oxiclean- 3.5 and Woolite- 2.7.
Procedure: First I will buy all of my products, the rug and the two
cleaners. Then I will pick out I want to stain the carpet. I will place my choice and wait four minutes. When the time
is up I follow the instructions of the product. Next I will see the result and
make a chart.
• Materials: Red Wine, Rasberry Jam, Coffee, Rug sample piece, Oxiclean, and Woolite (cleaners)
• Conclusion: Oxiclean worked better than Woolite. This conclusion supports my hypothesis. The averages showed that even though Oxiclean has a few flaws it is better than the better brand all around.
Constants: Red wine, raspberry jam, coffee (all was measured to be a tablespoon) and waited the same amount of time to work its
magic. Her are some examples of the stain removing before and after for both
brands.
