RUFUS WAINWRIGHT SOLO PERFORMANCE

Un cantautor cuyo talento, teatralidad y lírica se remontan en sus formas desde las tradicionesdel Tim Pan Alley, el cabaret o incluso en las raíces de la opera. Rufus Wainwright nació en1973; hijo de los genios de la música folk Loudon Wainwright III y Kate McGarrigle. Con 14años fue candidato a los Juno (el equivalente canadiense a los Grammy) como artista Jovenmás prometedor, a la vez que su tema "I'm a-Runnin'” fue candidato a ganar un Genie (losOscars canadiendes) como mejor canción original en una película. Desde estos primeroséxitos la carrera de Rufus no ha hecho más que crecer. Desde entonces, existe un sonidoeterno y envolvente, que Rufus utiliza para enmascarar su propia actuación como narrador,confesor, y guía. THE MILLIONCOLOUR REVOLUTION, segundo álbum del dúo barcelonés, que tras dos años de trabajo hasupuesto la consagración internacional del grupo. Se puso a la venta el 7 de Noviembre de2005 en España y Reino Unido, y es la primera referencia de Pinkerland Records, sello fundadoentre The Pinker Tones y Outstanding Records. Desde entonces ha salido en más de cincuentapaíses (EE.UU, Japón, Argentina, México, Canadá, Australia, Alemania, UK, Francia, Suecia,Noruega, Dinamarca y la Federación Rusa, entre otros). Para defender el disco en directo,Professor Manso y Mister Furia concibieron un formato de directo, con la inestimable ayuda deDj Niño: The Pinker Tones Dj Crew, en el que convive la intensidad de una banda de rock y ladinámica de una sesión de dj. One of the national bands with most success internationally: The Pinker Tones. ÁNGEL MOLINA

Desde sus inicios como DJ en 1991, Ángel Molina ha jugado un papel esencial en el desarrollode la música electrónica en España, gracias a su prodigiosa técnica, aplaudida unánimemente por crítica y público, y a un gusto exquisito que le ha llevado a ser considerado como unode los más finos selectores de techno en Europa. No en vano, es uno de los disc-jockeysfavoritos de Laurent Garnier y se le reclama una y otra vez en los clubes y festivales másprestigiosos de España, Francia, Alemania y Sudamérica por tres razones: su sentido delespectáculo sin concesiones a la galería, su versatilidad para pinchar los estilos más diversos(del techno minimal al deep house, pasando por todo un ramillete de subgéneros varios) yuna sensibilidad, única y personalísima, que trasciende la experiencia musical en sí misma.

Since his beginnings as a DJ in1991, Ángel Molina has played an important role in thedevelopment of electronic music in Spain, thanks to his brilliant technique , praised unanimouslyby critics and public, and his exceptional taste which has ensured that he is considered tobe one of the finest selectors of Techno in Europe. Inevitablemente la historia de Jeff Mills remite a los inicios del techno. Ese “Detroit Techno”de principios de los 90 que junto al colectivo Underground Resistence, llevó sabiamente a losclubes de todo el mundo. En el transcurso de los años 80, Mills fue un influyente deejay deradio en la emisora WJLB, bajo el pseudónimo de The Wizard. Sus mezclas fueron una partedestacada del programa The Electrifying Mojo de Charles Johnson. Con el paso del tiempo,Mills adquirió habilidades avanzadas de DJ, mezclando diferentes tipos de música no demasiadoconocida en la época. Sus álbums y EPs, que mayoritariamente son temas que luego suelepinchar en sus actuaciones en directo, le han convertido en una leyenda gracias a sushabilidades extraordinarias con los platos. Inevitably Jeff Mill’s history goes back to the beginnings of techno, to “Detroit Techno” at thebeginning of the 90’s which along with the Underground Resistance, he wisely took to clubsall over the World.During the 80’s, Mills was an influential radio DJ who played on station WJLB,using the pseudonym The Wizard. His mixes were an important part of the programme TheElectrifying Mojo with Charles Johnson. As time went by, Mills acquired advanced DJ skills,mixing different types of music which weren’t well known at that time. FANGORIA

Fangoria es un grupo formado por Alaska y Nacho Canut. Ambos habían coincididoanteriormente en los grupos Kaka de Luxe, Alaska y Dinarama y Alaska y los Pegamoides.

Su estilo de música se suele definir como electro pop o techno pop. Desde los años 90,Fangoria son pioneros en la "Vanguardia" musical, y tras más de una década de trabajosiguen ocupando un puesto destacado dentro del panorama musical español, puesto quese ve reflejado no sólo en lo que al éxito de crítica se refiere, si no también en cuanto a larespuesta del público.

A finales de 2005, Jens Moelle & Ismail Tüfekci, dos chavales de Hamburgo afincados actualmenteen París, publicaban casi en secreto 'Zdarlight', artilugio de minimal funky devastador, irresistiblefusión a altas temperaturas de indie-rock y dance-music, con pizcas de rabia post-adolescente,inyecciones blancas de techno y salpicaduras negras de new-wave.

La 'banda sonora de tus noches', según calificaron ellos mismos. Gracias a semejante aparatobalístico, han remezclado desde entonces a Depeche Mode, Tiga, Cut Copy o Daft Punk, entreotros. Con su primer álbum titulado "Idealism" (07) han querido adaptar sus composiciones alformato canción, dándole protagonismo a la voz de Jens, y han pulido consecuentemente sudirecto como un auténtico concierto de rock, crudo, hormonal y juvenil.

The Chemical Brothers son un dúo inglés formado por Tom Rowlands y Ed Simona. La críticalos ha aclamado porque son un hype con altas dosis de consistencia. Con su música, el públicoroquero se ha enganchado a la electrónica de baile, y el mainstream inglés y americano los harecibido con los brazos abiertos debido a su ávida imaginación. JAMES

James se formó en Manchester en 1982 cuando Paul Gilbertson, Jim Glennie y Gavan Whelanconocieron a Tim Booth en la universidad de Manchester y le pidieron que se uniera a su reciencreada banda.Tras un año en el circuito de clubs locales, en 1983 firmaron para Factory y lanzaronsu primer EP, “Jimone” a finales de ese año. En el verano de 1985 Larry Gott sustituyó a Gilbertson,y el grupo firmó por Sire Records. Tras años de trabajo y varios discos en el mercado lanzaron Seven,James empezó a trabajar on Brian Eno y el resultado fue Laid un disco más ambicioso y tranquiloque recibió las mejores críticas hasta la fecha. La banda se tomó una larga pausa en 1995, debidaen parte a la marcha de Gott. Con el guitarrista Adrian Oxaal en compañía, James se unió de nuevoa principios de 1997 con Whiplash, un disco más directo. “Pleased to Meet You”, que solo estuvodisponible en Inglaterra. Pocos meses después Tim Booth anunciaba su salida de la banda 20 añosdespués de su fundación. En 2007, James anunció su re-unificación y se embarcaron en una girapara presentar su doble-disco recopilatorio: Fresh as a Daisy: The Singles. El 7 de febrero de 2008salió a la luz el nuevo disco de James que estará presentado en SOS 4.8.

After 1999'sMillionaires, their spectacular follow-up, 2001's. Pleased to Meet You, was also available only in theU.K. A few months later, frontman Tim Booth announced his departure from the band he foundednearly 20 years before. In 2007, James announced that it would be re-forming and embarking on atour in support of the double-disc compilation Fresh as a Daisy: The Singles.

The Cabriolets es un grupo formado por Bimba Bosé, David Unison y Diego Postigo, y unamezcla inteligente de R&B, Soul y Pop.

Su camino hacia el escenario empezó en internet, concretamente en myspace.com, dondesolo en cuatro meses tuvieron más de 10.000 escuchas.

Un descubrimiento que ha sorprendido muchísimo por su calidad acústica y emocional, yque nos sugiere una música fresca y libre aderezada con la voz perfecta de Bimba.

Fischerspooner es un proyecto musical y artístico creado por algunos de los músicos más talentososde su generación: Warren Fischer y Casey Spooner, quienes han presentado sus creaciones tantoen Galerias de Arte como salas de conciertos y festivales. Dos son los discos de este dúo “1” unafiesta punky-digital aderazada con letras conceptuales que les impulso al éxito internacional graciasa temas como “Emerge” que hicieron bailar a toda una generación y “Odyssey” que con un sonidomás profundo y emocional dejó con la boca abierta a todos aquellos que creian que Fischerspoonerera otro One Hit Wonder del sello Gigolos.
