Pumpkin Head Lamp Designed by: Jeanne Baruth

Tips:• Read all of the KraftyBlok™ Image Art instructions before starting

your project.• Large profile decals are fragile, handle with care.• This project requires the use of a laser printer, not an inkjet.

Materials:• 71/2" KraftyBlok™ (#425100)• KraftyBlok™ Large Stand (#426121)• Image Art™ Paper (#427200)• E6000 Glue® (#8919)• 3/8" Venetian Tile Assortment (#42719A)

or Jennifer’s Mosaics™ Classico Glass Mosaic Tile• Night Light Socket and Cord Set• (Optional) Black Enamel Paint and Black Glitter Paint• (Optional) Halloween Ribbon and hot glue

Instructions: 1. Clean your KraftyBlok™ inside and out and dry completely.2. Place the KraftyBlok™ flat on a work surface with the opening at

the bottom. Measure, center and mark a 51/2" x 51/2" square on both faces of the KraftyBlok™.

3. Copy and resize pumpkin image to 51/2" x 51/2" using any software that allows you to manipulate and print images.

4. Set up your printer as instructed on the Image Art packaging.5. Follow printers’ instructions and print transfer. Allow paper to set

10 to 15 minutes to dry. Trim to size with scissors.6. Place transfer in a bowl of water and wait approximately 1 minute.7. Lightly moisten the area marked off on the face of the block. Center the transfer inside the

designated area. Roll a ½" of the backing paper away from the top of the Image Art transfer (the decal). Take extra care when sliding the image as they are delicate and can tear easily. Gently slide the Image Art transfer from the backing paper onto the surface using your fingers to smooth the decal as you peel away from the backing paper.

8. Gently pat and smooth the Image Art transfer with a moist paper towel eliminating air pockets and wrinkles. Allow to dry 10 minutes.

9. Carefully turn the KraftyBlok™ over onto a soft towel so the opening is facing down, apply the second image to the back. NOTE: If you do not allow enough time for the first transfer to dry, it will get marred when you flip it over.

Pumpkin Head Lamp 10. Allow both transfers to dry overnight.11. To permanently set the transfer, preheat a conventional oven to 345°F.

Place the KraftyBlok™ with the opening facing down on a baking rack. Do not allow either side of the block containing the Image Art transfer to lie against the baking rack. Bake for 15 minutes. Turn off oven, prop door slightly, and allow it to rest for 20 minutes.

12. When oven and block are completely cool, remove from oven and hand wash using a mild soap and water. Dry with a lint-free cloth.

13. Lie block flat on a covered work space. Tape off edges around the pumpkin and the sides of the block using painter’s tape. Paint inside the taped area with black enamel paint to create a frame. Allow to dry completely.

14. Once dry, apply black glitter paint over the black enamel paint on the front of the block. Allow to dry according to the manufacturer’s instruction.

15. Once dry, score around the painted edges of the tape with a craft knife and a ruler. This creates a clean sharp edge when you remove the tape. Slowly remove the tape. Repeat step 13 on the opposite side.

16. Next, place orange and black 3/8" tiles around the pumpkin transfer on the front face of the block, alternating colors. Once in place, lift tiles and glue into place.

17. Finish project by measuring and cutting a 20" length of ¾", 1¼" and 2¼" ribbon. Place the 2¼" ribbon flat on your work surface, center and layer the ¾" and 1¼" ribbon on top over the 2¼" ribbon. Apply a dot of hot glue on each layer to hold into place. Fold over one edge of the ribbon ½" and glue to one side of the opening. Wrap the ribbon around the block and finish by folding the remaining end under ½" and glue next to the remaining side of the opening.

18. Glue other embellishments, such as a scrapbook die cut of a little bitty spider.19. Insert a light into the project and place the embellished KraftyBlok

into the stand. Your Pumpkin Head Lamp is ready to light up the festivities with a boo-tiful glow!

Wooden Owl Night Light12. Cut the following lengths of balsa wood with a utility knife:

KRAFTYBLOK™ BOX FAME Section A: Sides – 7" x 3" x 1/8" – two Section B: Top – 6¼" x 3" x 1/8" – one Section C: Front and Back Bottom 13/8" x 5¾" x 1/8" – two IMAGE FRAME: Section D: Frame Sides 41/8" x ½" x 1/16" – two Section E: Frame Top and Bottom 3 7/16" x ¾" – two NOTE: Balsa is a soft wood and will reduce quickly. If edges are rough, lightly sand with 150 grit sand paper. Place the sand paper flat on your table, grit side up. Gently slide the wood back and forth over the paper until smooth.

13. To create the box frame around the KraftyBlok™, stand the block with the opening facing down. Apply glue along the raised edges of the top of the block. Center Section B over the glue and press in place so that there is a 1/8" overhang on each side.

14. Flip the block over so the glued surface is resting against the table. Gently press down to seat the wood into the glue.

15. Next, apply glue along the raised edges on either side of the block. Press both Section A wood pieces onto each side. Examine joints closely to ensure they are even and square. Allow 15 minutes to dry. TIP: Rubber bands can be used to hold wood in place. Do not use rubber bands that are too small, as they will dent the soft wood.

16. Apply glue to both ends of one Section C panel. Slip it in-between the side panels so it rests on the bottom front of the block.

17. For the bottom back panel, cut a ¼" square notch on the center bottom of the remaining Section C panel (for the lighting cord). Apply glue to both ends of this panel and slip it in-between the side panels so it rests notched side down on the bottom back of the block. Allow the project to dry for 15 minutes.

18. Place the KraftyBlok™ on its back with the “Owl” image facing up. Apply glue to Section D and apply to the top of the image. Apply glue to Sections E and apply them to either side of the image. Finish frame, by gluing the remaining Section D to the bottom of the image. Using the image for placement add wooden buttons to the image.

19. Allow project to dry completely per glue manufacturer’s instruction.20. Use a foam brush to apply clear varnish to the wood to seal it.21. Remove the KraftyBlok™ stopper and insert a 5-watt silicone candle bulb on a nightlight cord into the

opening. The prongs on the light cord will snap into the opening at the bottom of the stand and hold the light upright.

Flower Power Lamp

Print your image on the Color Slide according to the manufacture’s instructions. Cut your image to size, leaving a narrow border of unprinted paper around the image.

Fill the container with 2" of warm water. Place the image in the water and gently unroll. Soak for 30 sec. or until the image slides easily from the paper backing. Meanwhile, using a soft brush, apply a coat of water to the inside of the KraftyBlok™ where you want to place the image. This will make it easier to adjust the image when it is placed.

Remove the image from the water and lay it slick side up on your work surface. Gently lift the image from the water and place it face-down on top of the backing paper. (The adhesive side should be up.) Loosely roll the image and place it in the KraftyBlok ™ image side down. Peel off the paper backing.

With a soft brush, adjust the image and smooth out any air bubbles. Blot with a paper towel and let dry.Cure according to the instructions included with the Creative Image Color Slide™*Note: Our image is mounted on the inside of the KraftyBlok™.You can also choose to mount the image on the outside.

Cut the Spectrum Grape and Deep Aqua glass into 1" x 51/2" strips for the sides and top of the lamp. You will need 3 strips of each color. Cut one 41/2" square of Clear Sandblasted glass for the back. Next, cut teardrop shapes for the flower petals from the Clear Sandblasted glass and round centers from the Grape and Deep Aqua.

Apply a dime size drop of silicone adhesive to the corner area of the shiny side of the Clear Sandblasted Square. Attach the square to the back of the KraftyBlok™. Glue one Grape and one Deep Aqua strip side by side on each of the two sides and the top of the KraftyBlok™. Use cellophane tape to hold the glass in place until the adhesive dries then remove the tape.

On the image side of the lamp, apply the teardrop flowers, again applying the silicone adhesive to the shiny side.Apply the self-adhesive rubber feet to the bottom corners of the KraftyBlok™. This will allow room for the lamp cord and provide stability.

You can now wire the lamp if you like or use a LED candle. We used a candle lamp cord, available at your local home improvement store. Using the plastic cap from the hole in the KraftyBlok™, cut an opening large enough to accommodate the fixture. Clip into place. Insert the plastic cap and fixture into the lamp.

Size pattern to fit KraftyBlok™ surface.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Luminary 7. Apply mosaic adhesive to the surface of the KraftyBlok™ with a

craft stick or disposable knife. Lift the contact paper up and lay over the KraftyBlok™, with the red nose centered above the block opening. Wait about 15 minutes for the glue to set.

8. Using a craft knife, cut the contact paper where the eyes and nose are indicated and glue the 1½" white glass gems into the eyes and the red gem in the nose position.

9. When the glue has dried completely, remove contact paper.10. Measure grout following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Reserve a few tablespoons of grout and set aside. Adding 1 teaspoon of water at a time to grout, mix with a craft stick until the grout reaches “fudge-like” consistency. If too watery, add the reserved dry grout in small amounts until consistency is correct. Mosaic Tip : If you want to color your grout, use an acrylic paint, one teaspoon at a time, until you get your desired color.

11. Wearing disposable gloves, spread grout into the openings around the glass and along the outside edges. Wait about 15 minutes for grout to set. Form a beveled edge border around the mosaic using your finger.

12. Wipe away excess grout using a paper towel or sponge, taking care not to pull grout out of tile spaces. Always remove any grout on the tile surface before it is completely dry.

13. Use a soft cloth; buff the tiles to a clean shine. Allow 24 hours for the mosaic to dry.

14. Take a Sharpie® or black glass paint for the pupil area indicated on the pattern for the eyes. Dot each pupil with a bit of white paint.

15. Place the light bulb or string of lights inside the KraftyBlok™, place in stand and enjoy a little holiday glow!

Lasting Sentiments 6. Place a small amount of

white paint on your finger tip and lightly rub over the stencil. This will make the etch appear brighter.

7. Fill with your favorite flower.

Create Your Own Stencil1. Choose a letter to

represent the initial of the last name. Next, select a font from a word processing program you have on your computer. Enlarge the font size until it is approximately 31/2" tall (our font was set at 350 point size but this will depend upon your font).

2. Print on a plain piece of paper (or sturdy printable transparency paper). If you are printing on plain paper, you will need a sheet of firm plastic. Place the plastic over the printed initial.

3. Place them both on a firm surface to cut the stencils, such as a double-layer of thick carton, a cutting board or other craft plank.

4. Tape the plastic and the design to each other and onto your cutting board.5. Using a sharp craft knife for the cutting. It’s easier to be successful if you use a

good sharp knife.6. Cut the initial into the plastic.7. When you’ve cut the entire design, check it over and smooth curves or edges as needed.8. You are now ready to use the stencil to etch. When applying stencil to glass block we used

a prepositional adhesive to hold in place.

Designed by: Jeanne Baruth

Skill Level: (Adult 1-5: 1 being the easiest, 5 being most difficult) 2

Time to Complete: 2 days

Project Tip:• Read all of the KraftyBlok™ Image Art instructions

before starting your project.• Large profile decals are fragile, handle with care.• This project requires the use of a laser printer,

not an inkjet.

Materials:• KraftyBlok™ Mini (#426112)• Image Art Paper (#425878)• 4" x 4" Holiday Image (pg. 19)• Large Glass Gem 11/4"• Glitter – Silver and Blue• Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks• White Glue• Ribbon – 1" wide, 30" in length• Paper Towels• Bowl for water• Scissors

Instructions: 1. Using the holiday image provided on pg 19 (or find a

favorite holiday image), copy it to any software on your computer that allows you to print images. Size the image to 4" x 4".

2. Set up your printer per the instructions on the Image Art.

3. Follow printers’ instructions and print transfer. Allow paper to set 10 to 15 minutes to dry. Trim to size with scissors.

4. Remove the stopper from the block and clean the thoroughly with glass cleaner. Place transfer in a bowl of water and wait approximately 1 minute or more until the decal starts to loosen slightly.

5. Lay the KraftyBlok™ flat on your work area with the opening at the top. Moisten the face of the block. Position the transfer above the surface; roll a ½" of the backing paper away from the top layer of the transfer (the decal). Line up the transfer with the top of the block. Take extra care when sliding the image as they are delicate and can tear easily. Gently slide the transfer from the backing paper onto the surface using a finger to smooth the decal as you peel away from the backing paper.

6. Gently pat and smooth the transfer with a moist paper towel eliminating air pockets and wrinkles.

7. Allow to dry overnight.8. Once dry, permanently set the transfer by

preheating a conventional oven to 345°F. Place the tile on a baking rack with the transfer facing up. Bake for 15 minutes. Turn off oven, prop door open slightly, and allow the oven the tile to cool for 20 minutes. Remove from oven.

9. Lay the block decal side up. Apply white glue around the face of the block and apply silver glitter as shown in the photograph. A small amount of glue and glitter was added as accents to the image itself.

10. Once the glitter is dry, stand the block opening side up. Fill block with baby oil ½" from the top. Add 4 tablespoons each of both the blue and silver glitter to the oil.

11. Clean the block thoroughly of any oil or debris.12. Fit the stopper back into the opening.

Generously hot glue stopper in place and add large glass gem over the hole in the stopper to prevent the oil from leaking.

13. Wrap ribbon around the block and tie into a bow at the top. Tack ribbon in place using hot glue.

14. It is recommended that the block remains in an upright position at all times. A gentle shake will disperse the glitter in the block. DO NOT TURN UPSIDE DOWN.

Little Bloomin’ Night LightMosaics in a weekend – you betcha! This cute little floral nightlight is easy to create even for a beginner, simply nip, glue and grout!

Designed by: Rita Schwab

Skill Level: (Adult 1-5: 1 being the easiest, 5 being most difficult) 1

Time to Complete: 2 hours + dry time

Project Tip:• Cut stained glass chips over or into a bucket

or bowl to reduce straying shards.

Materials:• 1 Bag Stained Glass Chips (#424361)• White Grout (#425580)• KraftyBlok Mini (#426112)• Wheeled Glass Nippers (#2039)• Scissors• Mosaic Glue (#65105)• Disposable cup and plastic spoon• Paper Towels• Measuring Cup• Sponge or ScrubbyOptional: KraftyBlok Stand (#426121) and a single bulb with cord. Instructions:Step 1 - Preparation1. Cover work area with newspaper and place KraftyBlok Mini on top of newspaper. Position block so the stopper is at the bottom of the project.2. Make a copy of the pattern and place it nearby the project to use as a reference.Step 2 – Nip Glass1. Nip light green chips in half, and then nip each half once more lengthwise. This should create four thin rectangles which will be used for the

long blades of grass.2. Next, nip dark green chips in half, nip each piece in half again vertically to make four squares. These will be the shorter grass blades.3. Start at the bottom of the KraftyBlok and place the glass alternating different size chips. Leave at least 1/8" between glass pieces.

See pattern for placement suggestions.4. For flower stems, nip thin rectangles from a dark green chip. Remember irregular shaped glass is the hallmark of a mosaic; don’t worry about

cutting pieces exactly the same. Position stems on KraftyBlok™ and glue into place.5. To create the leaves use a Sharpie® marker and draw a leaf shape on a single chip. Nip away at the chip until you reach the outline of the leaf.

Position leaves on KraftyBlok™ and glue into place.

Little Bloomin’ Night Light6. For the center of the flowers, use a marker and draw a small

¼" circle on three yellow chips. Use wheeled glass nippers and bite away at the edges of the glass until you reach the outline of the circle. Position at the top of each stem and glue into place.

7. For the flower pedals, measure and mark ¼" in from the corner of one side of a blue chip. Use a marker and draw a line from the ¼" mark to the opposite corner of the chip. Nip chip along the line. Repeat this process for all pink and blue flower pedals. Arrange pedals on block to form flowers and glue into place.

8. Fill in the area around the flowers and grass by randomly nipping white and dark blue chips. Leave 1/8" between all glass pieces, glue into position.

Step 3 – Grouting1. Measure 1/3 cup of White Grout following the manufacturer’s

directions. Add water a little bit at a time until it reaches a fudgy consistency.

2. Wearing a latex glove, spread grout on to the surface of the KraftyBlok™ making sure that grout is pressed into all the spaces between the glass pieces. Wait about 15 minutes for grout to set.

3. Gently wipe away excess grout using a scrubby, taking care not to pull away grout from between glass pieces. It is very important to remove any grout on tile surfaces before grout is completely dry.

4. Use a soft cloth to buff glass to a clean shine. Allow 24 hours for mosaic piece to dry thoroughly.

Step 4 – Lighting1. Remove the stopper from the bottom of the KraftyBlok™.

Use a scissors and cut a slit from the edge of the stopper to the center hole.

2. Insert a string of white holiday lights into the KraftyBlok™. Slide light cord through the slot to the center hole and position stopper back into place.

3. If using a KraftyBlok™ Stand, insert a single bulb with cord into the bottom of the stand and place finished project on to stand.

4. Plug in and enjoy!

KraftyBlok™ Kaleidoscope LampProject Tip:MOSAIC TIPS:• Always use protective eye wear when nipping glass.• Opus (Latin for work) is the word used to describe the

way tiles are laid. The opus of a mosaic dictates the overall flow or movement of the mosaic.

• If your fingers are too big to maneuver small pieces of tesserae, use a pencil or tweezers to push them into tight fitting areas.

• Look for books on mosaics for inspiration.• To prevent glass from flying about, nip item inside a

bowl or pail. The sides of the container will prevent fly-away pieces.

Materials:• 1 KraftyBlok (#425100)• 1 package each 5 oz ¾" Cathedral Glass Squares

– Purple (#426274), Dark Green (#425130) and Blue (#425122)

Decoupage BankMotivate yourself to save money with this Decoupage Bank. Decoupage is fun for crafters of all ages.

Materials:• 1 KraftyBlok™ (#425100)• 1 16 oz or smaller bottle of Plaid’s Mod Podge™ Gloss Lustre Water base sealer• 1" wide foam or latex paint brush• White copy paper and access to color copier (optional)• Paper currency (U.S. or Foreign) in different denominations• Newspaper or craft paper to protect work surface• 6" x 10" black foam core for name plate • Assorted coins • Scissors• Glass cleaner • Paper towel • Craft knife (#5536) • Ruler • Craft glue

Instructions:Step 1 – Material Preparation1. Completely read the directions before starting.2. Cover your work area with newspaper to protect work surface.3. Collect and place all supplies needed on your work surface.Step 2 –Paper Preparation1. Clean the KraftyBlok™ with a glass cleaner. Dry completely with paper towel.2. Make color copies of a variety of different bills. Include foreign currency for added interest. Place several bills together on the copier to maximize the

number of copies per sheet of paper. You may copy just the front of the bills or both front and back for variety.3. Cut your copies to actual size of individual bills.Step 3 – Decoupage “Collage” Process1. Begin by placing the back of the block flat on the work surface with the opening at the top. Brush a thin coating of glue to an area on the front of the

KraftyBlok™, slightly larger than a bill you wish to glue. Place the bill at an angled position (for interest) on the block. Brush over the entire surface of the bill with more glue, pushing out any air bubbles until the bill is smoothly glued in place.

2. Using another bill or special portion of a cut bill, continue to add more currency to the front face of your KraftyBlok™ as instructed above. As you work to the sides, start wrapping the currency around the edges of the KraftyBlok™. Overlapping ensures the surface is completely covered.

3. The corners of the KraftyBlok™ may be difficult to wrap. Continue to Mod Podge™ and place bills so that they cover right up to the corners. Small pieces of bills can be added to cover any exposed areas if needed.

4. Once the entire front face is decoupaged, let it dry for 30 minutes before decoupaging the back.5. Decoupage back and visible sides following steps 1-4.

NOTE - You may wish to leave the bottom of the bank clear or create a clear window on one of the sides so you can see how much “real” money is being saved!

6. To decoupage the top, remove the stopper. Continue to add pieces of currency, overlapping the opening if necessary. Once the top has been completed, use a craft knife to cut the paper completely around the stopper opening so you have a clean, neat hole for the stopper.

7. Allow to dry 24 hours before adding the name plate and coin embellishments.Step 4 – Name Plate & Embellishments1. To personalize your bank, use Word Art, cut-out letters, stencils or even hand draw your special name plate (“College Fund”, “Fun Money”,

“Gas Money”) on a piece of paper approximately 5"-6" across and 1½" tall. Using a ruler and scissors, cut out this rectangle. Cut a piece of the black foam core board the same size, using a craft knife. Glue the name plate to the foam core and let dry. The foam core adds depth and dimension to the surface.

2. Position your personalized name plate on the bank front and glue in place. Glue coin embellishments if desired into place. Viola, your customized bank is ready!

Time to Complete: 1 hour to assemble. Allow transfers to dry overnight

Materials:• KraftyBlok™ Mini (#426112) • Image Art Paper (#425878) • White sheet glass (#S20091W)• Small pieces of jewelry, keys, bottle caps, charms, vintage belt buckle, small

squares of mirror, found treasures to use as components. Use similar color themes and genres.

• 20" each of 2" and ½" coordinated ribbon• Wooden Candle Cup 15/8" – 4 (feet)• Gold Spray Paint • Gold Glitter and white or spay glue – optional• Hot Glue Gun • E6000® adhesive (#8919)• Paper Towels • Bowl for water • Scissors

Instructions:1. Find your picture and copy it to any software on your

computer that allows you to manipulate and print images. Change the color setting to sepia. Size the picture to 2" x 6". Cut the image into three 2" x 2" squares. If you have bottle caps, a locket or simply an area you wish to add an additional photo. Measure the area and print similar images to size to accent the larger image.

2. Set up your printer per the instructions on the Image Art packaging.3. Follow printers’ instructions and print transfer. Allow paper to set 10 to 15 minutes to dry.4. Measure and cut three 17/8" x 17/8" squares of white sheet glass (#S20091W). For glass, cutting instructions visit our “Creative Corner” at

www.diamondtechcrafts.com. Clean the glass with water and a clean lint free cloth.5. Place one of the three transfers in a bowl of water and wait approximately 30 seconds.6. On one of the glass squares, line up one of the Image Art transfers. Take care when sliding the image as they are delicate and can tear. The image

is slightly larger than the glass, which allows the image to be wrapped over the edge of the glass square. Gently slide the Image Art transfer from the backing paper onto the surface using a finger to smooth the decal as you peel away from the backing paper.

7. Gently pat and smooth the Image Art transfer from the center out with a moist paper towel eliminating any air pockets and wrinkles. Repeat steps 6 and 7 on the two remaining white pieces of glass.

8. Allow to dry overnight.9. Once dry make the decals more scratch resistant by preheating an oven to 345°F. Place 3 pieces of glass on an oven safe rack or baking sheet with

the decal facing up. Bake for 15 minutes. Turn off oven. Prop door open slightly and leave in the oven for 20 minutes. Remove with heat safe oven mitts or pad.

10. Set the KraftyBlok™ with the opening facing up on the work surface. Fold one end of the one inch ribbon under ½" and glue it next to the opening. Wrap the ribbon around the block and fold the remaining end under ½" and glue it next to the opening. Repeat this process with the ½" ribbon over the 1" ribbon.

11. Using E6000®, glue a vintage belt buckle over the opening.12. Use the photo for inspiration; glue the white glass with the images down the middle of the KraftyBlok™. Continue to embellish the face of the

KraftyBlok™ until the desired look has been reached.13. Spray paint the wooden candle cups gold and allow to dry. Use E6000® to glue the feet to the bottom of the KraftyBlok™.

Night Before Christmas Victorian Scene Instructions:1. Remove the labels from the KraftyBlok™.

Clean all surfaces with glass cleaner and dry with a paper towel.

2. Remove the plastic stopper, measure 3/4 cup of white sand and pour into the KraftyBlok™ cavity.

3. Using tweezers, carefully lower the pine tree into the KraftyBlok™ and position it to the left side of the block. It may be easier to put it through the opening point first and then turn it upright. Try to cover the base with sand to stabilize it.

4. Next, insert the male Victorian Caroler centering him inside the KraftyBlok™. Place the female Victorian Caroler to the right of the male Caroler so she is positioned across from the pine tree. Adjust the objects for balance. Cover each figurine’s base with sand to secure in place.

5. Use a scissors and cut out the image at right (or supply your own). If choosing to use your own image, cut to a 51/2" x 51/2" size. Place the image on the backside of the KraftyBlok™ so that it appears to be behind the Carolers. If using the Kinkade image, try to place the figurines so they are on either side of the lamp post.

6. When satisfied with placement, add a small dot of glue to the front four corners of the image. Press image up against the back of the KraftyBlok™ so the scene is visible through the front. Hold in place until the glue is set.

7. Replace stopper and wrap a wired ribbon around perimeter of the KraftyBlok™. Bring the ends of the ribbon up and tie them into a bow.

8. Slide the finished KraftyBlok™ into the stand and you are finished with this adorable snowy holiday vignette.

Painted KraftyBlok™ Designed by: Dayton Allen

Skill Level: (Adult 1-5: 1 being the easiest, 5 being most difficult) The skill level and time to complete will vary depending on the picture you choose to paint.

Time to Complete: 6 hours

Project Tip:• Clean and dry the KraftyBlok™ very well prior

to applying the paint.

Materials:• KraftyBlok™ Original (#425100)• Assorted Acrylic Paints• Assorted Paint Brushes• Paint Pallet• Water Cup• Glass Cleaner• Paper Towels• Painter’s Tape• Matte Acrylic Fixative Spray

Instructions:1. Completely read these directions before starting.

Cover your work area with newspaper to protect work surface. Collect and place all supplies needed on your work surface.

2. Clean the KraftyBlok™ with a glass cleaner. Dry completely with paper towel.

3. Chose an image you wish to paint on the block. For inspiration, use a photograph, an illustration, or your own creative idea.

4. Select the acrylic paint colors necessary to paint your chosen image. Craft acrylics are affordable and come in a large variety of colors.

5. Have your brushes cleaned and ready – have your water cup filled in order to clean brushes while painting.6. Use painter’s tape and mask off the paintable area of your KraftyBlok™. This will create a clean, crisp border separating your painted

area from the rest of the glass block.7. Remember you are painting on glass, a non-porus surface. Therefore, paint will not be absorbed. As a result, you will need to paint in

layers and allow sufficient time for each layer to dry. Use water a bit more sparingly when painting on glass, too much water and the base, layers will begin to breakdown. There is no one basic rule to painting – everyone has his or her own style. Have fun!

8. When finished, allow to dry 24 hrs.9. Follow manufacturer’s instructions. Seal your masterpiece with a matte finish, acrylic fixative spray. Allow to dry. Carefully and slowly,

remove the painter’s tape from the KraftyBlok™ surface, making sure not to remove parts of your painting.10. Clean and polish your painted block and display!
