On November 14, 1960, at the tender age of six, Ruby Bridges became the firstAfrican American student to integrate into an elementary school in the South. She was escorted to school by four federal marshals amidst the protests of parents and students. Her simple but courageous act of showing up for school each day played an important part in the civil rights movement.

This November, walk to school like Ruby did and show your support for social justice, equity and inclusion in our schools.

“Don’t follow the path. Go where there is no path and begin the trail. When you start a new trail equipped with courage, strength and conviction, the only thing that can stop you is you!”

— Ruby Bridges
