The battle of puebla

This is how I used to dress in Mexico.

This is what we dress like when we dance on 5 de mayo.

When it is 5 de mayo we go to parties-fiestas to celebrate!!!

Mariachi is something that we play when it is 5 de mayo.

This is some mexican food that we eat on 5 de mayo.

We always put salsa on our tacos.

All my family loves ensalada de nopales – cactus salad.

When it is 5 de mayo we get to break open a piñnata.

And only kids get to do it!!!

During the day we get to go to our family members houses

and celebrate 5 de mayo with them.

At night we go to a special place and we get to dance and listen to mariachi. we also get to buy food like cotton candy and nachos, and everybody gets to buy fireworks.

5 de mayo IS NOT mexican independence day!!!!!!!!!!!

The Battle of Puebla

In 1862, Benito Juarez was the elected president of Mexico. The country was very poor.

A very big army from France came to Mexico to collect MONEY but they had no intentions of leaving. The …French landed in Veracruz.

General Ignacio Zaragoza from Texas led the smaller Mexican army. The mexican cavalry was the best in the world.

The French army was twice the size of the Mexican army BUT THE MEXICAN ARMY WON !!!!!!!

This is where the battle of puebla was fought. This is what it looks like today.

I’ve visited here before.
