The real problem with 

Rtvikism is inconstancy when accepting and rejecting 

proofs:

1. Rtviks usually only accept the official July 9th letter written by 

Tamal 

and 

authorized 

by Prabhupada. They normall   acce t this

and ONLY this as the 

basis of  their doctrine. They reject all other points made in 

conversations that lead up to this letter and also that followed this letter. Thus they maintain that on the 

basis 

of  

this 

one 

letter 

and the one word in it used b   Tamal i.e.

"henceforward" that a 

permanent eternal system of  Rtvikism is set up by it.

2. But to be consistent with this doctrine above one has to admit that no other persons 

were 

named 

to 

be 

Rtvik-acharyas in this letter. So unless we

accept some other 

proofs or conversations there can be no increasing 

the number of  Rtvik-acharyas. Since all the 11 persons actually mentioned in the letter have gone on to make 

their 

own 

disciples 

none are at present available to act as

Rtvik-acharyas for 

Srila Prabhupada at the present time. Thus the Rtvik-acharya 

system as presented in this letter is defunct due to the actions of  the ONLY 11 Rtvik-acharyas authorized to 

perform 

it.

proponents say that 

more Rtvik-acharyas can be authorized in addition to the 11 

named in the letter then they must give some proof  for that. The proof  is not in the letter. The proof  can 

only

letter, they specially do not want to accept other points from the May 28th conversation because in the

acharyas ARE HIS GRAND DISCIPLES. "Prabhupāda: Who is 

initiating. He is grand disciple."
