Center Mission
To build the capacity of State Educational Agencies (SEAs) to assist Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) in implementing proven and promising models for RTI.
Center Objectives
Objective 1: To identify, adapt, evaluate, and scale up RTI
models for identifying and serving students with disabilities;
Objective 2: To provide TA&D to SEAs and LEAs with ongoing TA
support, as needed and appropriate, to implement comprehensive
RTI programs in districts, schools, and classrooms nationally; and
Objective 3: To disseminate information about proven and
promising RTI models to parents, service providers, program
administrators, policymakers, and other interested stakeholders
across the country.

Background
Role of the TRC: To identify and disseminate information about tools and
interventions that are grounded in a rigorous scientific evidence base
Three TRCs:(1)Screening; (2)Progress Monitoring; (3)Tiered Instruction

TRC Process
Nomination and recruitment of membersCriteria:
(a) member has strong methodological skills (and background
in measurement, for screening and progress monitoring)
(b) member has a background in screening/progress
monitoring/instruction.
-- Special attention was paid to including members with
expertise on culturally and linguistically diverse
populations.
Development of evaluation protocol Submission and review of tools Publication of results

Need to provide TA liaisons with sufficient background information to work with states Previous capacity building activities

Need to document progress of states receiving intensive TA Accountability
Goals of Portfolio
Enhance collaboration and dialogue between SEA and TA liaison Share what we find
Look for overlap among state agency resources/activities
