FEATURES

Rickard Air Diffusion offers a wide range of Return Air Grille types to

suit most architectural requirements. The most common is construct-

ed from extruded aluminium and comes in two variants namely the

curved (RCV) and square vane (RSV). Both are designed to limit the

view into the ceiling but the RSV has a modern 45 degree profile

while the RCV offers a more traditional curved vane option. Other

options are Egg Crate Grilles in Aluminium (RAE) or Plastic (RPE) and

Steel Perforated Grilles (RSP). All Square Rickard Grilles have the

option to be ordered with Opposed Blade Dampers for balancing

purposes or with filters that are accessible through hinged panels

(HF).

Return Air Grilles fitted with washable filters are designed with a

sturdy latch mechanism to securely fasten the hinged access panel

into its frame. Velcro Strips can be fitted as an option to hold the

filter material in place when opening the hinged access panel.

APPLICATION

Rickard’s RA-grilles are available with or without plenums for ducted

or ceiling return air respectively. Hinged RA-grilles fitted with remov-

able and washable filter media are available to limit dust contamina-

tion of the return air.

It is important to consider the effect that RA-grille positioning has on

the functioning of the air-conditioning system. Correct placement can

assist the movement of supply air or the extraction of heat loads that

should not be mixed with supply air. Incorrect placement can result

in the short circuiting of supply air before it has done its job and in

turn make it difficult for old air to make its way out of the building.

OPERATION

Return Air Grilles fitted with washable filters are designed with a

sturdy latch mechanism to securely fasten the hinged access panel

into its frame. Velcro strips can be fitted as an option to hold the

filter material in place when the hinged access panel is opened. In

the RRCV or Round Return Air Grille, the grille can not be hinged

down so Velcro is used to secure the filter media in place.

SELECTION

The selection tables show the flow in l/s at its respective pressure

drop. Please use the formula below the table to calculate the flow for

a non-standard size RA-Grille.

All square types listed below are available in the standard

600x600mm and 600x1200mm sizes. Special sizes are available on

request.

Stock of standard size RCV and RSV grilles are finished in our Stand-

ard Matt Penn White colour to satisfy urgent requests. A large range

of coated and anodised finishes are also available on request.
