The Club has just completed its final quarter for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 and I am delighted I had at least one quarter to teach myself about the Club, its committees, policies and pro-cedures, construction projects, and plans for the future before we started our new Fiscal Year on March 1. As many of you know, we had an extremely successful year financially, largely due to our increase in banquet revenue and we are looking forward to continued improvement!
ATCC not only excels in its banquet business, we excel in member services. I had the opportunity, during the first quarter of my term as President, to visit every committee at least once. It was a pleasure! Our 500 members benefit not only from a dedicated staff at ATCC, but also from 65 volunteer members who serve on committees. Many of the improvements you see at ATCC are the direct result of committee work.
The Players Lounge serves food and beverages on Monday and Tuesday evenings, as a result of the Food and Beverage Committee’s recommendation; and more and more members are joining us on Monday and Tuesday nights to take advan-tage of the great variety and pricing of our beers and wines. Thanks to Ashley and Tracy’s great taste and service, and the Food and Beverage Committee’s great recommendations, bev-erage sales are soaring! Sixty people attended Beer Club in February which is a great testament to the success of our food and beverage program.
I also attended the Membership/Social Committee meeting this past month and the energy was explosive. I could not be-lieve the number of great ideas being considered: host fami-lies, open houses, and reinventing junior membership. House and Grounds Committee always has a plethora of issues to deal with: patio furniture, light fixtures, exterior paint, flooring and window design, stairs from the pool deck to the fitness center, fencing, light, and sound in the pool area. The Swim and Construction Committees also deal with many of these same issues. I will talk more about our committees and all they do in future articles, but in closing I want to acknowledge the Construction Committee again. They continue to meet ev-ery Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. to help Craig oversee con-struction and they are totally AWESOME. I do not know what ATCC would do without them. Thank you guys and thank you fellow members for tolerating the construction mess with such grace. It isn’t easy but it will be over by mid -April and we will be delighted with the result!

Happy New Year ATCC. We close the books on February and our 2013 fiscal year, and move full steam ahead into fiscal year 2014. 2013 proved to be another successful year, with banquet revenues reaching an all time high and member usage in the dining room continuing to climb year over year.
Our construction project continues to move forward, with an anticipated completion date of mid-April. We recently demolished the topping slab (see photo) of our existing Terrace patio so that we could provide a waterproof membrane before pouring the new deck, thus eliminating a leaking hazard into the fitness center. We also removed the steps leading to the pool, but fear not, they will re-built (but no longer at that funky angle) and continue to be wide and deep and perfect for those lazy sum-mer days where the children reside to spill (I mean eat) their ice creams. I am most excited about the new flat green space we will be adding below the wedding court. It was very hard to tell by the plans just how expansive it would be. Shaded by the beautiful deodar, it’s going to become a favorite area for birthday par-ties, cocktail receptions and the like. It also will have its own gated access to the pool area. I am also anxious to get the new play area between the Splash Café and lower parking lot completed. Will it comfortably fit one, two or three ping pong tables? Time will tell. Summer is just around the corner. If you’ve got a friend or family member looking to join ATCC by June, they need to contact April ASAP, as membership opportunities are quickly slipping away.

We hope to see you around on a Monday or Tuesday evening for dinner, at lunch, or at one of our upcom-ing events.
Our fabulous Food & Beverage Department has been hard at work planning for the next several months. With new menu items in the works for lunch and for dinner, and several holidays to celebrate, you are sure to see Chef Matthew and his team shine. As a reminder, the Players Lounge is open for din-ner on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a limited select menu which in-cludes delicious Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, 1/2 Roasted Free Range Chicken, and Cincinnati “5-Way” Chili. Dining on Monday or Tuesday evening, or just meeting friends for a drink after tennis in the Players Lounge is a great way to start off the week. In March, Chef Matthew will begin rolling out our Spring menu and will also begin working on add-ing several new exciting items to our lunch menu. We are open for lunch Wednesday-Friday 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. and Saturday 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. In addition, Chef Matthew has procured several new fruit trees which have been planted near courts 6 & 7, and has also starting working on our new Club gar-dens. As the gardens flourish, items will be incorpo-rated into the menu and specials as much as possible.
On March 23rd, the Wine Club will be hosting tastes of Italy. If you haven’t had a chance to join our Wine Club, please consider doing so.
