RSD/STLCC EARLY COLLEGE PARTNERSHIP

Get a high school diploma and college credits towards

an Associate Degree at the same time. 2020-21 (Rev. Oct 31, 2019) Thank you for your interest in the Rockwood School District Early College Partnership (ECP). The ECP is a full

immersion early-entrance-to-college program located on the campus of St. Louis Community College (STLCC) –

Wildwood. Students attend the ECP for two years, replacing the junior and senior years of traditional high school. While

in the ECP, students are enrolled in a curriculum consisting of all college coursework taught by professors at STLCC.

Upon successful completion, students earn an Associate of Art degree as well as a high school diploma. This is a unique

and innovative opportunity for students to socialize and study in a non-traditional setting.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Complete this ECP application and submit to the address on Page 2 by mail or electronically or return directly to your

high school counselor (counselor signature upon receipt is required on page 3). All students will also need to take

the ACCUPLACER placement test. The deadline for submission of all materials is Monday, February 3, 2020, and

there will be no exceptions to this deadline. Prospective students apply to the ECP during their sophomore year (10th

grade). The ECP Committee looks at the overall picture of a student's academic performance by considering the

following:

Classroom Performance (Grades in courses taken in 9th and 10th grades) Cumulative GPA of 2.5* or higher * Students with a GPA below 2.5 may apply but require one recommendation from an RSD staff member and must

complete the RSD/STLCC Recommendation Form on Page 6 of this application. Official student disciplinary record from school ACCUPLACER results – To be eligible for the ECP, students must test into both College Composition 1 and

Intermediate Algebra or higher (upon completion of ACCUPLACER test, student’s course placement will print at

the bottom of the scoresheet). An essay written by the student A signed agreement to abide by the expectations and responsibilities of the RSD Early College Partnership.

DEADLINES Students must take the ACCUPLACER test at an STLCC testing site, preferably Wildwood campus. Visit

STLCC WW for ACCUPLACER testing information and see page 7 of this application on testing procedure. All materials must be in by February 3, 2020. Students will be informed of acceptance after March 1.

RESOURCES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Students will have access to a full time Rockwood high school counselor/college advisor. Students will have access to the Wildwood Student Resource Center, Library and computer labs as well as student

clubs and campus activities. Students will be responsible for their transportation to and from the STLCC- Wildwood. Students will follow the STLCC academic calendar and are required to be in attendance for all classes. The Rockwood School District will cover the tuition, and fees of college classes each semester up to sixty (60)

credits. Students are required to maintain passing grades (C or better) in all classes. Students may return to their home high school for extracurricular activities including sports. Book costs are the responsibility of the student. The grade for every course taken at STLCC is transferred backed to your RSD transcript. Only a select few of

those courses are weighted. If this is important to you, please check the approved weighted grade list.

All complete applications received by the deadline will be equally considered for the ECP.

GENERAL ACCUPLACER INFORMATION

St. Louis Community College requires a placement test before any student can enroll (unless an applicant has an official

ACT score of Math 19, English 18, Reading 18). Rockwood uses this placement test, the Accuplacer, in the application

process to help assure ECP students can be successful and will be placed in the appropriate college level courses.

Additional info:

The test is computerized and untimed. While some students may finish in 45 minutes, others may take up to 2

hours. Do not rush. Take the time that you need to finish and re-check your answers.

No calculator is needed

You may take the test up to 3 times, if needed, in a calendar year.

Free, complete study guides for all subjects can be found at www.guides.stlcc.edu/accuplacer

A picture I.D. is required

Testing hours: M – TH 9:00 – 5:30 PM, F – 9:00 – Noon, Saturday - please check website.
