But now with a new series of fea-

tures which are Pfaudler-exclusive

and unmatched in the industry.

Larger ManwaysAll RS Series reactors now have large diametermanways for easier and safer access into thereactor. Also, an integrally fused sight glass (there is no mounting hardware) and stainlesssteel spring assist are now standard.

Higher Pressure RatingsSince many chemical processes today requirehigher pressures, we have increased the internalpressure rating by 25%! All RS Series reactors arerated for 125 psig internal pressure. All jacketsare rated for 100 psig.

Cryo-Lock® Mixing SystemPfaudler’s patented shrink-fit glassed impellers are designed to fit through the manway and areinstalled inside the reactor without having toremove the shaft, drive or motor. Impellers arequickly installed, resulting in significantly reduceddowntime costs.

The standard impeller is the versatile curved blade turbine which promotes excellent blending,gas dispersion, suspension and heat transfer.However, a variety of impeller designs are avail-able to handle every mixing requirement. Pfaudlerwill recommend the optimum configuration foryour specific application.

Fin BaffleThe effectiveness of a baffle is a function of itsshape, size and placement within the reactor. The “fin” is the latest design in glass-lined baffletechnology and offers a flat blade, has a generousoverall width and is oriented toward the vesselwall. This results in a substantial increase in effectiveness over competitive offerings.

In addition, our fin baffle is flange mounted (which eliminates the stuffing box), is easilyinstalled and extendsto within inches of the bottom head. Lowlevel baffling and temperature sensing is now possible.

Top HeadMore process nozzlesare provided, and the large drive accesscover has been elimi-nated. No more largegaskets to shim ornumerous clamps to tighten.

Low TemperaturesMany processes today run at lower temperatures.All shells and heads of the RS Series utilize finegrain carbon steel which have significantlyimproved low temperature characteristics.

Easy InstallationThe RS-Series reactor can replace existing standard RA vessels with minimal piping or support modifications.

Standard and Custom DesignsChoose from a full line of Pfaudler RS-SeriesGlasteel reactors, with models ranging from 300to 15,000 gallons. These configurations can be customized to meet specific design requirements.

Why Use a Glasteel ReactorThe specially formulated glass lining, fused

to a steel substrate, is highly corrosion

resistant and chemically inert to nearly all

substances. It is the ideal environment for

processing ultra-pure products.

Its smooth surface resists adherence by

viscous or sticky materials and cleans easily.

Glasteel is strong. Fusing glass to steel

produces a composite material with the

advantages of glass and the strength of

steel. It has a high resistance to impact

and thermally induced stresses.
