Range Rover Sport’s interior is meticulouslyappointed to reflect its character. Superbdetailing, strong elegant lines and cleansurfaces combined with luxurious soft touchfinishes. Intuitively placed controls, such as theCommandShift 2, create a cabin that places thedriver at its centre.

The centrepiece of the interior is the boldintersection between the strong horizontalelements of the instrument panel andthe vertical lines of the centre console.The dynamic character of the cockpit iscomplemented by the faster angle of thecentre console, with its striking satin chromepillars which flow from the instrument panel

through into the rear cabin.

5+2 SEATING

For additional seating versatility, the 5+2

arrangement* has two seats stowed under thefloor of the luggage compartment, with no lossof boot space and are split 50/50.

They have been designed for occasional use,enabling the vehicle to accommodate up toseven occupants.

The second row seats have forwards /backwards movement of 100mm allowing forbetter access to the third row seats andflexible accommodation.

Power operation is standard for the third rowseats. When folded, the third row seats leave aflat floor in the luggage compartment with no

loss of space compared to the five-seat model.

*The third row seats are suitable for use by older childrenwho can either use the adult belt or a booster seat in conjunctionwith the adult belt. They are not suitable for smaller childrenwho require a child seat where the adult belt is not used directlyto restrain the child.

Designed and engineered by Special Vehicle Operations(SVO) – Land Rover's centre of excellence for bespoke commissions,luxury editions and performance models – Range Rover Sport SVRbuilds on the marque’s capabilities and creates a performanceSUV that is even more exhilarating.

This is immediately apparent in the SVR design, with thevehicle’s muscular, broad shouldered stance being the perfectcomplement to its performance and handling. Large air intakesin the front bumper promote great airflow to the two chargeair coolers whilst the rear spoiler increases down-force athigh speeds.

TERRAIN RESPONSE

With over 65 years of all-terrain expertise, thisvehicle has Land Rover capability at its heart.Our unique Terrain Response system enablesthe driver to optimise the vehicle's engine,gearbox, centre differential and chassis systemsto match the demands of the terrain, byselecting one of the easily identifiabledriving modes.

The optional Terrain Response 2 systemenhances this even further by monitoring

driving conditions and automatically selectingthe driving modes to achieve the best possiblechassis and powertrain set up for the conditions.

There are up to six Terrain Response modes:General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud andRuts, Sand, Rock Crawl and Dynamic.

The optional Terrain Response Dynamic settingallows the driver to select a dedicated programfor enthusiastic on-road driving, deliveringa much more engaging and agile drivingexperience, with a firmer ride, tighter bodycontrol with reduced roll, and more responsivesteering and performance.

ALL-TERRAIN PROGRESS CONTROL

All-Terrain Progress Control is a state-of-

the-art system that enables drivers to setand maintain a steady speed in challengingconditions.

Operating like a cruise control system, itfunctions between 2km/h and 30km/h,enabling the driver to maintain fullconcentration on steering and finding apath through obstacles, while the vehiclecontrols the engine and brakes to hold acomfortable, steady speed.

Developed by Land Rover’s industry-leading

all-terrain specialists, the system requiresno additional hardware or sensors, andworks seamlessly alongside the TerrainResponse 2, traction and braking systems.

Once All-Terrain Progress Control isactivated, the standard steering wheel +/-cruise control buttons are used to set thespeed; brake and accelerator pedals canstill override the chosen settings, withgentle braking achieving a reduction intarget speed.

HILL DESCENT

CONTROL

To complement the Terrain Response system,Range Rover Sport can also call upon aunique suite of all-terrain technologies tohelp maximise performance and safety.

Hill Descent Control (HDC) assists withcontrolled descent of difficult slopes bymaintaining a constant speed and applyingbraking separately to each wheel. Hill StartAssist ensures you do not roll backwards asyou pull away on an incline.

The vehicle also utilises Gradient ReleaseControl which is designed to prevent thevehicle ‘running away’ on a steep incline whenthe driver inadvertently releases the brake.

WADE

SENSING

With a wading depth of up to 850mm, whethercrossing streams, fords or flooded areas, theoptional Wade Sensing can prove invaluable.Unique to Land Rover, using sensors in thewing mirrors it alerts the driver, both visualand audible, if the water is too deep, by

providing real-time pictorial informationabout the water’s depth in relation to thevehicle, as well as maximum wading capabilityvia the Touch-screen.

This displays the angle at which the vehicleis entering deeper or shallower water, whichis particularly beneficial in the dark when it isdifficult to predict the wading depth.

DYNAMIC RESPONSE

Dynamic Response transforms vehiclehandling through hydraulic roll control,optimising on road performance andpassenger comfort, by reducing the amountof body lean during cornering or uneven

road surfaces.

The latest two-channel system is capableof controlling the front and rear axlesindependently, allowing it to be tunedto deliver increased low-speed agility,along with enhanced control and stabilityat speed.

With this feature, off-road capability isimproved. If the system detects off-roadconditions, the control module reduces thelevel of roll compensation, thus allowinggreater wheel articulation and increasing thecontact patch with the terrain.

When operating in Dynamic Responsemode, wheel articulation is a class-leading 546mm.*

Roll Stability Control is a sophisticated

roll mitigation system that uses gyroscopicsensing to detect the onset of a potentialroll-over; brakes are applied on the outerwheels to widen the turn radius and reducethe likelihood of a roll-over.

ADAPTIVE DYNAMICS

Featuring continuously variable dampers,

Adaptive Dynamics provides the optimumbalance of ride and control by offeringinfinitely variable damper settings betweensoft and firm extremes.

The system monitors vehicle movements

at least 500 times per second, reacting todriver or road inputs virtually instantaneouslyto give great control and minimise bodyroll, providing a composed, flat ride. Thesystem even senses off-road conditions, andoptimises damping accordingly.

DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL

Stay safe when cornering as Dynamic Stability

Control detects deviation from your chosencourse and applies appropriate braking.

The system monitors the vehicle 100 timesper second via the Dynamic Stability Controlmodule. As the vehicle accelerates through acorner, the system uses yaw sensors to detectthe beginning of understeer.

Imperceptible levels of braking are then used

to correct the vehicle attitude, while enginetorque is transferred to the outside wheels,which have more grip, thus maintainingtraction and steering control.

SUSPENSION

Range Rover Sport features a Four-Corner AirSuspension system which delivers class-leadingcomfort and capabilities both on and off-road.

The air suspension system automaticallyswitches between two ride heights when theoff-road setting is selected. Maximum ground

clearance is increased by 65mm above normalride height at speeds less than 50kph.

The suspension system delivers impressivewheel travel – with 260mm of movement atthe front and 272mm at the rear, providingexceptional wheel articulation and composureto deal with the toughest conditions.

AUTOMATIC

ACCESS HEIGHT

Attention to detail is everywhere you look andin everything you touch. For instance, the newAutomatic Access Height feature lowers thevehicle with precision by up to 50mm, for easierentry and exit when parked. Arriving in style atany function has never been more relaxed.

SVR DYNAMIC RESPONSE

Working with the vehicle’s uprated air springsand Adaptive Dynamics continuously variable

dampers, the two-channel Dynamic Response isspecially tuned to enhance Range Rover SportSVR’s high-performance capability.

Indeed, the SVR is so much more competenton tarmac that Land Rover engineers had tocompletely re-scale existing Dynamic Responsegraphs to take account of its cornering ability,allowing the Range Rover Sport SVR to cornerflatter and faster than any other Land Roverin history.

The system is also tuned to deliver aprogressive breakaway at the limit, particularlywhen the optional 22 inch tyres reach their grip

threshold. This ensures the vehicle remains easyto control up to and beyond the tyres’ limits –while cornering at high speed, for instance.

While Dynamic Response is tuned to behaveuniquely for the Range Rover Sport SVR

during performance driving, it automaticallyreverts to the same software map as otherRange Rover Sport models once off-roaduse is detected by sensors monitoring bodymovement, wheel positions and vehicleheight. This greatly reduces body lean atspeeds up to 40kph and maintains excellentoff-road capability.

ELECTRICALLY DEPLOYABLE

TOW BAR

This bespoke system has been optimisedalongside the Range Rover Sport advancedaluminium chassis construction. The ElectricallyDeployable Tow Bar is stowed discreetly behindthe bumper, providing a clean attractive finish.

It is designed to deploy/store in 12 secondsand is sensitive to obstructions.

TOW HITCH ASSIST

Tow Hitch Assist makes coupling a trailer tothe vehicle much easier by helping you visualisethe hitching process; it displays the predictedpath of the vehicle towards the trailer tow baron the Touch-screen.

On the road, the Tow Assist feature helpswith reversing by predicting the trailer‘sdirection. You can even choose your trailer’swidth for precise guidelines displayed onthe Touch-screen.

SURROUND CAMERA SYSTEM

For a complete, all-round view, the optionalSurround Camera System incorporatingT-Junction View helps to see everything clearlyon the high-resolution full-colour Touch-screen.Using four digital cameras discreetly placedaround the vehicle, the system provides analmost complete 360 degree view including abirds-eye overhead view. The Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS)

CLIMATE CONTROL

To ensure that the interior is maintained at theperfect temperature whatever the weatheroutside, Range Rover Sport features a climatecontrol system which is based on class-leadingtechnology. The result of an incredibly rigorousdevelopment programme, the system has beentested in real-world conditions in temperaturesranging from +50 to -30°C.

Three versions are available: the standardtwo-zone system, a three-zone system, orthe premium four-zone system with separateclimate controls for driver, front passengerand each side of the rear cabin.

With its independent heating and coolingcapability in the rear compartment, thefour-zone system offers great comfort in therear seats, with multiple outlets at face, footand hip level.

REMOTE PARK HEAT WITH

Optional Remote Park Heat with Timed Climateenables you to pre-heat or cool the vehicle withremote control and seven-day timer.

EIGHT-SPEED AUTOMATIC

TRANSMISSION

All petrol and diesel engines inRange Rover Sport are paired with theadvanced electronically controlled ZFeight-speed automatic gearbox, which hasbeen modified by Land Rover engineersto combine silky-smooth shifting withrapid response.

With eight closely spaced ratios, gearchanges are almost imperceptible, witheach shift completed in just 200 milliseconds– four times faster than the average humanresting heartbeat.

Steering wheel-mounted Paddle Shift isavailable and enables the driver to take controlof gear shifting manually. The transmissionaccepts multiple downshifts, maintaining anabsolutely smooth transition between ratios.

The optimised lightweight eight-speedtransmission is the perfect partner to thetorque-rich petrol and diesel engines, andcontributes to their enhanced fuel efficiency.

The transmission is tuned to select torqueconverter lock-up as early as possible toreduce slip and energy loss. TransmissionIdle Control disengages 70 percent of thedrive when the vehicle is stationary and theengine is idling in Drive, significantly reducingconsumption in urban conditions.

In cold conditions, the transmission selectsa lower gear to promote fast warm up andget the engine up to its efficient operatingtemperature as soon as possible.

Range Rover Sport Hybrid is the first dieselSUV of its kind in the world. It is designedand engineered to deliver class-leadingcapability and versatility. By fully integratingthe hybrid technologies into the chassis,nothing is lost in ground clearance,approach and departure angles or the850mm wading depth. The vehicle truly is100% Hybrid, 100% Land Rover.

A lithium-ion battery pack is mountedunder the floor of the vehicle to avoidany impact on load space or passenger

accommodation. It is protected by a boronsteel cradle to ensure the vehicle retains itsfull off-road breadth of capability.

Attention to detail is at the very heart ofLand Rover. That is why even the alloywheels on Range Rover Sport Hybrid isdesigned for increased efficiency. Theyfeature spokes that are aerodynamicallyshaped so, as they move through the air,they require less power to keep themmoving. To finish, the vehicle is specifiedwith a unique Hybrid badge that is locatedon the side vent.

The 3.0L SDV6 Diesel engine with a 35kWelectric motor generates an impressive700Nm of torque resulting in the sameperformance as the SDV8 Diesel but,at 164g/km, has 9 percent lower (18g less)CO2 emissions when compared with theTDV6 engine.

Innovative engineering ensures thetransmission of energy between battery andengine is seamless. This energy is c reated bythe Regenerative Braking process, throughelectro-hydraulic brakes on the rear axle thatcaptures and stores kinetic energy in thebattery, normally lost through braking.

Electric Vehicle (EV) On Mode: Optimiseshybrid battery power and is whisper quietenhancing the refinement around town orpeaceful villages.

EV Off Mode: Enables the vehicle’s defaultsetting where the hybrid system selects themost efficient combination of diesel andelectric power to meet the power andtorque required.

A category first, the all-aluminium monocoquebody makes the vehicle light, strong, safer,fuel efficient and sustainable. Being light alsoimproves both speed and agility for a refineddriving experience.

This structure means that traditional energyintensive construction methods, such as spotwelding, are not required.

CLOSING VEHICLE SENSING

Using sensors mounted on the sides andthe rear bumper, these optional systems are

integrated to see what you might miss. When avehicle enters a blind spot, an amber warninglight shows in the corresponding door mirror.Closing Vehicle Sensing scans a zone muchfurther behind the vehicle, to help detectvehicles which are closing quickly from behind,and which could cause a threat during a lanechange manoeuvre.

ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

WITH QUEUE ASSIST

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is an optionalsystem that helps maintain a pre-set gap from

the vehicle in front, even if it changes speed.Queue Assist extends the ACC functionality.It is designed to allow the vehicle to cometo a stop when it reaches a traffic queue.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING

This optional feature notifies the driver whenthe vehicle is leaving the road or driftinginto traffic in an adjacent lane. The system

warns the driver using an alert on the clusterand vibration feedback through the steeringwheel; it encourages better lane disciplineby warning of inattention to the road. Adrift is defined as the vehicle driving overa lane marking without using the indicator,the system uses a front facing camera todetermine if this is the case. The system isactive at speeds of 50-150 kph and where thelane being driven in is more than 2.5m wide.

TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION

Traffic Sign Recognition uses the forwardfacing camera to read speed limit signs anddisplays the identified speed limit on the

instrument cluster. The system is capable ofdetecting variable speed limits and, whereit exists, navigation data is used to increaseits effectiveness. The feature can also displayovertaking restrictions. Available as an option.

Range Rover Sport‘s optimised aluminium body structure protects occupants using an

The occupant safety package includes a comprehensive system of airbags and restraint systems

With virtual object tracking along the sidesof the vehicle, 360° Park Distance Control

gives confidence in confined situations, likemulti-storey car parks at speeds up to 16kph.This is an optional feature.

In order to minimise the vehicle’s overallecological impact, Range Rover Sport isdesigned with a life cycle approach, aimingto minimise the environmental impact byconsidering the entire life cycle of the vehicle.

Each element of the life cycle was analysedwith a view to consuming fewer natural

resources, using more sustainable materialsand minimising the generation of waste.

The development process has includeda full life cycle assessment in line withISO 14040/14044.

Range Rover Sport’s aluminium constructionmakes a major contribution to its reducedcarbon footprint. Up to 75 percent of thealuminium material is sourced from recycledcontent, resulting in a significant saving ofenergy and CO2 emissions.

Recycled and renewable materials are usedwherever possible in the Range Rover Sport.High specification vehicles use up to 26.7kg ofrecycled plastics, diverting over 11,800 tonnesof plastic from landfill during the carline’s life.Natural and renewable materials, such as theluxurious leathers and veneers, represent 28kgof each vehicle.

INTELLIGENT STOPSTART SYSTEM

To ensure the greatest possible fuel efficiency,all Range Rover Sport powertrains incorporatelow-CO2 technologies such as the advancedintelligent Stop/Start system, which improvesfuel consumption by between 5 and 7 percent.The system automatically shuts down theengine at rest and starts again as soon asyou lift your foot off the brake. It features aTandem Solenoid Starter with a dedicatedsecondary battery for instant restarting.
