Report on Magnetometer Survey, Glory Property,
Robb and Jamieson Townships, Ontario

Introduction
In early December of 1983 Terry Fricker and Bruce Raine, in the employ
of W.O. KARVINEN St Associates Ltd., carried out a proton magnetometer survey
on a 19-claim property in Robb and Jamieson townships owned by Glory Mining
and Refining Ltd. of Pickering. The survey was done on a 400 ft. by 100 ft.
grid cut earlier by Henry Gonzalez Exploration Services of Timmins. Purpose
of the survey was to assist in interpreting bedrock geology.
Property Description
The property comprises 19 contiguous claims numbered P606091 to P606200
inclusive, P6060207 to P606214 inclusive and claim P606234. The claims are
1007o owned by Glory Mining and Refining Ltd., Suite 800, 1305 Sheridan Mall
Parkway, Pickering, Ont.
Location and Access
The claims are located south of the little Kamiskotia River and just
east of Kamiskotia Lake, about 25 miles northwest of Timmins, Ontario.
The property can be reached via Highway 576. An old bush road crosses the
property from east to west.
Previous Work
In the recent past, most of the property has been cut by control grids
mainly for electromagnetic surveys searching for massive base metal sulfides.
A grid cut by Canadian Lencourt Mines Ltd. and Falconbridge Nickel Mines Ltd.
covers much of the claims. In addition, older work by Dominion Gulf Company
covers the northern portion. In the former work a few electromagnetic.con
ductors were located and two diamond drill holes put down with no success.
No record of any magnetic survey on the property is available.

Government geologic maps of the area indicate the property to be under
lain by gabbroic rocks of the Kamiskotia intrusive complex, northwest-trending
mafic volcanics and a high level intrusion of quartz-feldspar porphyry.
The latter rock and its contact area is considered to have potential for
gold mineralization.
Present Survey
The magnitude of the total magnetic field was measured with a Unimag
proton magnetometer at 100-ft. intervals along each of the grid cross lines.
Traverses were tied into base stations at intervals of no less than one
hour and daily variations were controlled by regular readings of some stations
recorded the previous day. The data were corrected accordingly and a list
of final results, accurate to ilO gammas was obtained. The data is displayed
on a contour map enclosed in this report.
Interpretation of Results
The 200 gamma interval used to contour the results delineates distinct
magnetic values and patterns associated with the different rock types (see
map) .
The north-trending linear positive anomalies, most apparent on the west
side of the property in claims P606191, P606196, P606200 and P606207 indicate
diabase dikes.
The northwest-southeast trending elongated but disconnected positive
anomalies reflect the variation in magnetic susceptibility of mafic volcanic
flows and interflow material.
Broad negative magnetic anomalies, located mainly in Jamieson Township
(claims P606212, P606213, P606214, P606234 and P606209)delineate felsic rocks,
which in this particular area have been mapped as granophyric quartz-albite
- 3 -
porphyry. The smaller negative anomalies appear to be related to and adjacent
to positive anomalies probably caused by diabase or locally higher suscepti
bilities in lavas.
Interflow sulfides (mainly pyrite, pyrrhotite and chalcopyrite) are
found in old pits in outcrop in the northwest corner of claim P606210.
Gabbroic rocks forming part of the Kamiskotia mafic intrusive complex are
also known to occur on the property. Some of the anomalies, particularly
the strong positive anomaly in the central part of claim P606213 is related
to contact features of a gabbroic intrusion. This anomaly was drilled during
an earlier survey by Canadian Lencourt Mines Ltd.
Conclusions
This detailed total field magnetic survey clearly outlines the geometry
and distribution of the variety of bedrock on the property. The data will
be very useful in compiling an accurate bedrock map after all outcrops and
overburden have been mapped in detail. Subtle magnetic features can then
be used to outline alteration zones associated with gold mineralization.

Description and Specifications of a Proton Magnetometer.
- l -
l - INTRODUCTION
The McPhar model GP-70 Proton Magnetometer is a light
weight, portable instrument! designed for field operation under
widely varying environmental conditions. It measures the absolute
magnitude of the total magnetic field within the range of 20, 000
to 100,000 gammas with an accuracy of l gamma - 15 parts
per million of the field under measurement. The instrument is
simple to operate and requires no special skills. A complete
reading is obtained in 3.6 seconds by depressing a push-button.
The magnetic field intensity is read directly in gammas from a
5-digit display.
2 - PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The operation of the GP-70 magnetometer is based on the
principle of NUCLEAR FREE PRECESSION of polarized hydrogen
protons in the presence of an external magnetic field.
The frequency of precession is always directly proportional to
the magnitude of the total field, and is free of orientation require*
ments and temperature drift.
- 2 -
The relation between precession frequency w (La r mo r frequency)Liand total magnetic field HQ is expressed as the gyromagnetic ratio yp , a physical constant derived from the properties of the atomic nucleus, as follows :
w loy., s r:—— - 2 6751.3 (radians/second-oersted)
e - tin
If w s Ztrf . then
2irfL 2irfL HO ' ———— s 2675173 S 23. 4874 x 10
But since. l oersted s 10 gammas *
H = 23.4874 x f,O
In order to obtain a direct readout in one gamma units by conventional frequency counting methods, the required counting period T c can be calculated as follows t
s means " equal by definition ")
SL x Tc t Hg , or
Tc s -~ r 23 '?874 X—— . 23.4874 seconds C
- 3 -
But since the'amplitude of the precession signal produced by a practical fluid such as Kerosene decays with an average
4
time constant ( T^ ) of 1.2 seconds, a more suitable counting period is obtained by electronic multiplication of the La r mo r frequency by a factor of 64, as follows :
fL x 64 x Tc s H
Hg64
g '23.4874 x fL f x 64 0.36699 sec.
During the count period Tc , the amplitude of the precession signal decays as follows :
If T
envelope of precession signal
s tj-to* 0.36699 sec., and -
s 1.2 sec., and Eo s 1 007o , then
E0 6 a 73.65 7o approx.
- 4 -
During the count period T i the amplitude of the precession signal decays to approximately 7370 of its maximum value.
*
The fluid in the sensor is first polarized by a strong magnetic field ( 100 Gauss ). After the polarizing field has been removed , the protons of the fluid start processing around the earth's magnetic field, and their combined magnetic moments induce a small alter nating signal voltage in the sensor coil . This signal is amplified i filtered and frequency-multiplied by a factor of 64.
The multiplied signal frequency is then accurately measured by a crystal-controlled frequency counter, and the count* equivalent to the earth's magnetic field in gammas, is displayed on the five- digit readout .
UNPACKING AND INSPECTION
Carefully unpack the equipment and inspect for shipping damage. If the instrument or accessories were damaged during transit, the carrier should be notified immediately , so he can arrange for repair or replacement.
