rdCrime and Sevastopol, until 23 June 2018. The EU does not recognize and continues to condemn the illegal annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation and will remain committed to fully implement its non-recognition policy. This decision entered
stinto force on 21 June 2017.

EU Allows Additional Sugar Imports With Increased Tariff Quota In The Sugar Sector.
ndOn 22 June 2017, the EU published an updated list of company names exempted from Anti-dumping duties (ADD) on imports of bicycles (CN Codes 8712003020, 8712007092) originating in China to imports of bicycles consigned from Cambodia, Pakistan and the Philippines, regardless of their declared origin.
thOn 20 June 2017, the EU published a notice on the imposition of definitive Anti-dumping duties (ADD) on imports of certain cold rolled flat steel products from China and Russia. The Chinese company, Hebei Iron and Steel Co., Ltd, Shijiazhuang has changed its name to Hesteel Co., Ltd Tangshan Branch, Tangshan, both under the TARIC additional code C103, while the imposed ADD of 20.5% shall remain on the company.
rdOn 23 June 2017, the EU exempted denaturing of alcohol (used in the manufacture of any product not for human consumption) from excise duty for the harmonisation of the structures of excise duties on alcohol and alcoholic beverages, also published the updated list of products affected with their Chemical Abstracts Service .This
stregulation shall apply from 1 August 2017.

There has been an update to China Customs Tariff. This update adds preferential rates for various agreements. The following HTS chapters are affected: 04, 09, 12, 15, 16, 18, 20, 22, 57, 71 and 90.
There has been an update to Taiwan Customs Tariff. This update adds various HS numbers. The following HTS chapter is affected: 12.
1. There has been an update to European Union Customs Tariff. This update adds certain HS numbers and includes the descriptions of the new HS numbers in Danish, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Swedish. The following HTS chapters are affected: 03, 10, 72 and 73.2. There has been an update to European Union Customs Tariff. There has been an update to India Export Controls. This update includes changes in description, addition and deletion of License flags to Chart Global. The following categories are affected: 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
There has been an update to Thailand Import Controls. This update adds controls/requirements for various products. The following HTS chapters are affected: 01, 02, 05, 15, 16, 19, 21 and 23
1. There has been an update to European Union Import Controls. This update imposes definitive Anti-dumping duties and definitive countervailing duties on imports of certain flat-rolled products of iron, non-alloy steel or other alloy steel from China. Also changes the Anti-dumping rate for 'all other companies' for imports of stainless steel wire from India. The following HTS chapter is affected: 72.

European Commission Forges Ahead On New Transparency Rules for Tax Planning Intermediaries

transparency rules for intermediaries - such as tax advisors, accountants, banks and lawyers - who design and promote tax planning schemes for their clients. Member States will automatically exchange the information that they receive on the tax planning schemes through a centralized database, giving them early warning on new risks of avoidance and enabling them to take measures to block harmful arrangements.
On 21st June 2017, PM Theresa May presented her government program aimed at regulating the withdrawal of Great Britain from the EU. The draft Brexit legislations include repealing the EU laws and transposing them into national laws, establishing an independent customs and tax system to enable the country to control import and export of goods, set its own tariffs and taxes, and enable Great Britain to trade independently post Brexit.
stOn 21 June 2017, the EU amended a regulation concerning prior surveillance of imports of certain iron and steel products from certain third countries. Importers should document their transactions to facilitate the surveillance for the EU. This applies to imports whose net weight exceeds 2500 kg established for each individual TARIC code and 5000 kg subject to
thprior surveillance and falling under HS heading 7318. This regulation shall apply from 11 July 2017.
thOn 20 June 2017, The Council of the European Union has agreed to develop a framework for a joint EU diplomatic response to malicious cyber activities, which will if necessary include new sanctions measures under the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). The EU's agreement is a response to what it says is “the increased ability and willingness of state and non-state actors to pursue their objectives through malicious cyber activities”, and it said that “states should not knowingly allow their territory to be used for internationally wrongful acts using Information and Communication Technologies”.
Honduras and South Korea begin talks to attract more South Korean foreign direct investment (FDI) into Honduras. Both agree that more relations between Asia and Latin American countries should be established. The Vice Chancellor of Honduras and the Director of Foreign Relations with Latin American countries sat down to sign an agreement to further develop the areas of education, technology, infrastructure, health and trade development. Additionally, South Korea offered scholarship funds in public policy, finance, environmental studies and security among others. The representatives of each country also discussed their respective general elections, the North Korean missile crisis and the near future prospects of a free trade agreement between both countries. Lastly, they discussed ways to better develop the integration of the Forum for East Asia-Latin America Cooperation.
On Wednesday in Moscow, Russia, Brazil's Foreign Minister, Marcos Pereira, signed the Protocol of Cooperation, Information, Exchange and Mutual Assistance in the System of Tariff Preferences of the Eurasian Economic Union. This will allow products cleared through the GSP to be treated with preferential treatment. This bilateral agreement will reduce import duties on Brazilian products by up to 25%. Currently, the Russian GSP allows Brazil to export 2,700 items to Russia with preferential treatment. This new GSP will also eliminate 80% of the current waiting time, and many of the fees paid previously by importers due to wait times will decrease.As of right now, Brazil and Russia have commercial preferential treatment only through the GSP program. Russia's imports receive a 25% reduction on 3725 products.
