First the metal framework for RPD fabricated by:- Lost-wax casting technique.
Following are the stages for Cast RPD:Preliminary Impression / MMR / study cast.Preliminary surveying & occlusal analyses of cast.Selection of RPD design.Tooth-prep work / final impression & master casts.Final surveying & block-out work on master cast.FWK outlining on master cast.Duplication of the prepared master cast.Wax hardening of the refractory cast.Wax / plastic patterns used to lay-down FWK.Wax-pattern on refractory cast sprued.

FWK wax pattern invested in a casting ring.Wax pattern burnt-out to get mould for FWK.Mould heat-soaked to expand (casting shrinkage).Molten-metal alloy forced to fill mould cavity.Cast FWK recovered from casting ring.Sprues cut.Fwk finished / smoothened / polished.FWK tried on cast & in mouth.ACIP if necessary.MMR records if needed.Trial of waxed-up RPD in mouth.Processing / finishing RPD.RPD fitted in mouth.

Recording of ACIP if necessary.

Trial of waxed-up RPD in mouth.
Processing / finishing RPD.
Fitting RPD in mouth.
