You have until early 1991 10 register your YOle - and you can use the card as soon as it is received. Voles should bereturned to your clerk and we recommend you do so as soon as possible.

Many people have notifiOO us ofchanges in their troil: address and requested us to send their matorial to a new address. Please be advised that DEFCOM does no( hold your address details - that Information is maintained by the ADF andefforts are being made to kaep that infonnation accurate. I

Even at this early stage, 'NO have received tots of news of members saving through the scheme. The most spectacularsavings have been for motor car ptJrchases \IIl'hero over 50 cars have been bought around the country with estimatedsavings of $100,000 to members - one roomber saved over $4000 with a special deal from Alto Ford in Sydney.

We know of another member wIlo saved about $800 on carpets and dozens of members have saved on batteries, tyresand under-ear services from Beaurepairs. OuaayPacific Hotels have accommodated many members at discounted roomrates and Australian Eagle Insurance have 'Mitten policies for several members.

But there have been teething problems, particularly with some of the larger companies in the scheme - a lot of thedifficulty experienced Is due to the fact tha1 the scheme is NEW and those companies have thousands of staff to trainand it didn't happen overnight DEFCOM has moved fast and hard to get these companies working.

Bouquets and brickbats III Hundreds of tyros have been bought at good prices from Beaurepaires, but in some areastheir staff had not been properly trained and, in other areas, the dlscounted prices have been bettered by competitors

wIlo want to keep your busness from~Following several calls from members, 0EFCQt,,4 has renegotiated the discounts from BeaurepaJres and we are pleased

to announce INCREASED DISCOUNTS OF BETWEEN 2 - 15% on a range of Beaurepaires products and services. Wemust say that Beaurepaires responded VfKY quickly when we approached them about improving their offer. I

Discounts have been locreasocl to Include the in'Iported brands Bridgestone, Pirolli, Goodrich, Yokohama and Michelinand TYRE ATTING IS NOW FREE. Chock your Boauropaires outlet for details and remember that these discounts arBavailable AU. YEAR ROUND - something the other big tyre sollers cannot guarantee (we know because 'NO asked twoof them to join the schemel).

Membership of the scheme is FREE to acliw Reservists and material is being sent to all of you. Only FORMERReservists need to pay $25 for Associate Membefsl'jp - see Page 1 of your directory in the section "WHAT t-WPENSWHEN YOU LEAVE THE MJf?".

The directory asked you to 'Watch lor more news in your Service Newspapers" because Australian Airlines are stilldeveloping their domestic holiday packages and tours - you can expect to see something in the next month or two.
