Progress report grades will be available in HAC on Friday, February 8th. Progress

reports will be sent home with students on Tuesday, February 12th.

February 18th is President’s day and also a student holiday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, February 19th.

February 15th is Early Dismissal. Students are released at 12:40.

FRIENDSHIP PARTY

February 14, 2019

King Elementary will celebrate Spring Friendship Parties in each homeroom class on February 14th.

Students will enjoy a drink and snack in their classrooms, provided by PTA. Students will be permitted to share friendship notes and cards with their classmates, if they choose to do so. Teachers will provide time during the party for students to distribute and then open their cards. Students are invited to bring board games (no electronic toys) to play with friends during the party. If you prefer your child not participate in the Spring Friendship party, please contact your child’s teacher for an alternate activity.

Note: Only Parents/Guardians assisting with the parties will be allowed to attend. Please arrange childcare for siblings. Parents are also encouraged to sign in and have a badge printed prior to Feb 14th, to reduce the wait time.

volunteer opportunities and ways to support our King Lions.

Do you remember how you learned math when you were in school? I vividly remember learning one way to solve a problem… ‘the teacher’s way’. Now we know students learn most effectively when they are able to talk about how they solved their problem and listen to others share their thinking process. Our state standards ask us to use a variety of strategies to add, subtract, multiply and divide. What are all the different strategies? What does that even mean? Join us at RKE for our Lunch & Learn Math Series to find out more information about all the various math strategies that your child is learning in the classroom for addition and subtraction. Bring your own lunch… dessert will be provided. :)
