Football Coaching

The Newcastle United Foundation is running a FREE family football course at Rowlands Gill Primary School starting in February 2016. The fun filled course lasts for 6 weeks and starts on Wednesday 24th February 2016. Each session will start straight after school (Intervention Room- KS2 corridor) and run until 4:30pm. Children must be accompanied each week by an adult over the age of 18.

Each week will consist of a short classroom based session covering various topics such as healthy eating, healthy lifestyles, teamwork and equality, alongside a practical games session. The practical session will consist of many different games. We promote adult participation throughout.

Places are limited to 15 adults and their accompanying children so return the completed sip attached to school ASAP for your chance to take up this fantastic opportunity!

The School Council, who designed the Seating Area, will recite a poem and each class will release a helium balloon. Pupils from each class will write a message or poem and attach it to the balloon. The ceremony will last for approximately 15 minutes.

My thanks go to the PTA who funded the Seating Area. Parents are welcome to attend.

Late Arrivals

It is important that all children arrive at school punctually. This instils a good work ethic in the child, which can last a lifetime. When a child is late, it disrupts the working day for both the teacher and the other children in their class. It is also important for a child’s socialisation that they are present at the start of the school day to interact with their peers.

The doors are closed at 9.05am. From Monday 8th February, the bell will sound at 9.05am. Children who are late must report to the school office where they are entered into the late book, thereby obtaining their attendance mark and ensuring that in the case of an emergency the school is aware of their presence on site.

Rights, Respecting Award – Article 3

The best interests of the child must be a top priority in all actions concerning children.
