RoundTrack®-Systems enables flow and pulse assembly of machines and industrial goods. New, efficient transportation solutions help improve productivity. Due to minimal rolling resistance, loads of several tons, such as gearboxes as well as entire machines and machining centers with often large dimensions, are moved with ease. At the same time, the technology ensures safety and high precision.

Renowned manufacturers employ RoundTrack®-Systems in their factories. Economical and technological advantages have made this STROTHMANN development a successful alternative to conventional means of conveyance, particularly in heavy load applications.

The best move

STROTHMANN RoundTrack®-System is part of a compre-hensive intralogistics concept. It has many advantages over other transportation systems.

The special wheel profile reliably guides the wheels while ensuring minimal rolling resistance. Even loads of several tons can be moved by hand.

Round rails with 25, 40, and 60 mm diameters accom-modate different loads. The RoundTrack® 60 system has a payload of 15 tons per wheel – a trolley with four double-wheel sets can therefore move loads of up to 120 tons. Made from hardened steel and polished blank, the rails are installed in the floor by means of aluminum holding profiles. The wheels are manufactured from roller bearing steel. A concave profile ensures minimal contact with the rails and therefore minimal rolling resistance.

Lean production with RoundTrack®-system

Waste reduction is a central aim of lean production. Through the introduction of flow assembly, manu-facturers of machines and vehicles can achieve significant savings. In comparison to box assembly, the assembly time is approximately halved. Along with the reduction of stock in production

Energy-efficient drive options

Standard battery packs are powerful enough to power the carts due to the low rolling friction. They are charged during downtimes. In applications with higher energy consumption or requiring even better availability, cable rollers, energy guiding chains, and bus bars ensure safe transport.

For long driving distances and indepen-dent power supply and communication, inductive power supply is the best choice. In case the carts of an entire line have to be moved or “pulsed”, STROTHMANN offers its own floor recessed pulse conveyor system.

Highly automated processes reveal the capabili-ties of RoundTrack®-Systems.

In a fully automated setup for one of our custo-mers, 40 carts featuring inductive power supplies and controlled via wireless LAN transport parts weighing 30 tons.

For an efficient product and material flow, it does not matter what kind of object, what shape or size it is.

The RoundTrack®-System includes simple, standar-dized dollies and custom made carts with various additional functions.

Additionally, we can construct individual vehicles for your particular requirements.

RoundTrack®-Systems enables modern processes, even if the products are over-sized.

In a wind turbine factory, the rotor blades used to be painted manually. Today, the blades are automatically driven through the paint shop on RoundTrack®, and a robot carries out the work in the paint spray atmosphere.

We meet high precision requirements, for instance, by realizing exact positioning functions and installing levelling platforms in the construction of measurement tools.

If required, RoundTracks® can be hydraulicilly lowe-red.

As a result, you not only receive an efficient int-ralogistics solution but also reduce the effort for positioning and orientation.

A modular system of RoundTrack® components allows us to confi gure intralogistics concepts tailored to the individual application.

Single or double-wheel sets are basic compo-nents of our continuously expanding portfolio of standard dollies, including lifting station that ena-ble ergonomic height adjustments. Moreover, we will quickly and fl exibly realize special carts and product-specifi c fi xtures.

In many applications, the dollies are pushed by hand. Where more power is necessary, we will integrate suitable drive technology (see p. 7).

The modular system furthermore comprises tur-ning stations, crossings, and quadro turnstiles (see p. 10). It includes all necessary accessories such as limit stops, index pins, as well as various wipers and brushes that can be attached to the dollies to clean the tracks.

Demanding installation in new and existing shop floors

The installation of RoundTrack®-Systems is carried out by STROTHMANN personnel with a lot of expe-rience.

In existing and in new buildings the floor screed is cut by means of high-precision diamond disc cut-ters and prepared for the installation of the track.

Special mounting jigs ensure a fast, precise, and clean mounting.

The remaining cavities around the tracks are filled with non-shrinking mortar. The work can be com-pleted in line with factory requirements during operations or within a weekend.
