A Reaction/Reflection Paper: PAF Assets

Military weapons are mainly valuable assets to one country. It is based to the fact that a country is seen to be capable and well progressive to its defense and resources available. If a country is seen to have efficient gadgets and military paraphernalia, surely it is greatly be respected and honoured by the other countries. In connection to these utilize and present assets, it can be related that the country also have a high economy standard. Indeed, when we can observe, Philippines is just milestone away from these adjectives.

Philippines as a South-Asian country do have experienced a lot of wars since the World War II. It entails that Philippines have abundant arms in preparation and usage during wars. Since then, these weaponries are well kept and manage to be ready in case of wars may occur. During our educational trip, Philippine Air Force (PAF) of Misamis Oriental showed us the theis different assets or guns. It was like my first time seeing and touching those kind of stuffs that I have not done before. Unbelievably, some of these where already on hand long before in World War II. That amuses me. But in connection to what we are experiencing in our country nowadays (wars, killing, terrorism, etc.), does these assets can show that the military are well ready if those instances may suddenly come up? In my own perspective, I think somehow those assets are well capable as a counterpart if enemies may appear. Those are high powered, but to think that those stuffs are only limited or our military only have few of these, I can consider that we may be in danger if we may face big intercontinental wars. I know that they have used some of these armors (eg. in Zamboanga event), but neither of these can really stop the intense rivalry between the army and the Muslims. For me, our economy is also at its recovery stage to progression that’s why it predicts that our budgets to avail weapons are also in control of the government. We can’t tell to how and in what way we may able to help to resolve these stuffs, but all we can only have is hope that these disputes may not come any bigger.

Every single citizen has the right and capability as individual to react to these situations and address this concern to our government. We are not responsible for the overall safety of our nation, but our mighty soldiers who defends us in all odds. To uplift and enhance their capability to defend us, the government should consider taking high budget priority for military defense areas. Our government should provoke the continuance of Pork Barrel issue and solve this case as soon as possible to be able to do this. I hope in the near future, we can be able to overcome this situation and be in safe.
