    Rotarian David Pittman mentioned and held up yer for the Downtown Oroville 5K Run River thatoncludes at the Saturday Farmers Market. Event is scheduled for Saturday May 19, 2012 start 0800tate Theatre.

    Rotarian also complimented Rotarian Rocky Nolan on the preparation and repainting of the historic

    Oroville log skidder just located on the pedestal at Montgomery Street and Hwy 70 on ramp for allo see.

    Regular Meeting 1200 hour

    Rotarian PPDG Rod Ritchie discussed theNicaraguan past project along with the fellow Rotarian Lou Rotarback in year 2000 club membership near 60. Rotary Club President Dee Fairbamentioned where we did a whole dental facility project. After some research the cstarted with Children of the DUMP 4,000 villagers in Nicaragua near a Volcano tcollapsed left 2,000 people mixed up in the disaster. Lou and Rod discussed hTexas A&M created a soup to feed the many survivors of land that was cancerous wconstant malnutrition from living on Dump as only food source. Local minister FatMarcos offer to feed the children if parents will allow children to go to school with Rtary help and funding and with time program expanded the children to over 400. Th

    Texas A&M bought a ranch away from the disease, contamination and lack of nutritiBuilt concrete homes in 50 home lots eventually over 200 for 1000 people. Each howith pure clean water in 700 sq. ft. of space of safe, comfortable and healthy enviroment. ThanksRod and Lou for sharing how Rotary has made a difference not just here but to so many needy children. The program still continues throthe University to a lessor degree than past, but is still productive.
