Club DARK as Prez gets in Shape

Prez Ken cancelled the Friday meeting and retreated to an athletic boot camp in his final struggle to get in shape for the September 27 U.S. Bank Tower stair climb. The last-minute

decision came about when he learned that rivals President-Elect Alan Bernstein and VP Program Chair Jose Vera had

each conquered the 1679 step climb in under 15 minutes. Ken’s best time to date was 22 minutes to the 7th floor be-

fore cramping halted his ascent.

Ken’s weekend junk food BBQ was cancelled, too. A runner’s diet at boot camp consists of protein, lentils and milk: foods essential to putting a little fat on the scrawny club president

and giving him the energy that will take him to the top of the

72-floor tower.

Jose Vera bragged his weekend would include lechón asado with sour garlic sauce. “The President spent too many hours

at UCLA studying instead of exercising. He’s got to catch up.”
