Annual Baxterrsquos Bash Picnic

Baxterrsquos Bash is a Red Hook Rotary Club tradition that dates back well over 30 years James Baxter a Charter Member of Rotary Club of Red Hook NY started this tradition Jimmy Baxter was retired when I joined the Club He was not able to do as much as he used to so he put on this picnic every year Jimmy would arrange and pay for the food club members would bring side dishes and pay our regular weekly meal price All meal money went to the Club My early recollection of Baxterrsquos Bash was in a pavilion deep in Wilcox Park where no one would disturb us It pleases me that our Club carries on this tradition and continues to honor one of our Charter Members Acting Editor Carl Dowden See more photos from Baxterrsquos Bash on following pages Members we missed and hope to see next week Susan Ezrati Rob Latimer Karen Mead-Cadorette Barry Ramage Susan Simon Gale Wolfe and Dave Wright Guests A delegation from Red Hook Public Library Brenda Cagle ndash Citizen of the Year 2017 Robert McKeon ndash Town of Red Hook Supervisor Beverly Van Voorhis Don Kent Ellen Triebwasser Fiona Seabrook and her family (I apologize if I forgot someone) Attendance on August 28 59 - No Happy dollars
