Meeting Notes 21st August 2017

Welcome back to Doug Rhodes and Carol Allen from holidays in Port Douglas and to Paul Clark back from China. A special welcome was extended to Honorary Rotarian, David Price.

President Tom has been shopping at Bunnings for tools for Kankama, spending $180.00 demonstrating once again, Rotary in action. Kankama have a “Morning Tea” coming up shortly where we may be acknowledged for our support. Pres. Tom also ask if members and partners would consider a group visit to Circus Soleil some time in October?

Steve Daley took the chair and declared, ‘No birthdays of anniversaries “. Ken Wall congratulated Carol Allen on becoming a Board member of ABCD.

Lara Barrett reported that following a procedure, John Waterhouse will away for the next 2 weeks. Sergeant Peter warren fined Rob Davies for doing a great job on Rosemary the Roast Lamb at Sunday’s lunch at Mt Martha House. Well done Rob. Our barbecue team made $309.00 at the sau-sage size on Saturday. Wayne Norris was fined for trying to remove cobwebs from the clothes line. Turned out to be completely perished line hanging in shreds. Paul Clark, last at the bar.

Roger the swindler won again for the club, where were/are the Jokers.

Steve Daley introduced Emily and Ellen from Peninsula Rotaract. We have 2 Rotaract clubs in our District, Peninsula and Casey-Cardinia. Rotaract numbers are growing and Peninsula boasts 31 members. Together the Rotaract clubs are attracting young professionals to our District, have supported 35 different projects and raised over $65,000. 10 Rotaractors went to Dili, East Timor and cared for street kids in Los Palos, provided essential needs for the homeless and care packs especially for young women.

President Tom closed the meeting at 8pm
