Past President Rene Lanier presided over the meeting.

Past President Bill Kelly & Kim Gresh greeted members and guests at the door.

The Marietta High School Air Force Junior ROTC presented the colors.

Gordy Nichols led the club in the singing of the Star Spangled Banner and God Bless America.

Barbara Woodhouse conducted the invocation.

Past President Bill Kelly introduced guests and visiting Rotarians while conducting the GRSP Raffle.

George F. Suhr selected the winning raffle ticket.

Past President Sam Ainsworth won two bottles of wine in the GRSP raffle which raised $92.

Jim Boone introduced his father Jack Boone who as a member of the U.S. Army fought Nazi Germany’s Field Marshal Erwin Rommel in WWII on the sands of North Africa. Mr. Boone was awarded the Silver Star & Purple Heart.

Bill Callaway introduced his neighbor Bob Hutcheson who joined the reserves in WWII and landed on Utah Beach during the D-Day invasion. Bob is also one of only three surviving members of the Marietta High School Class of 1932.

Past President Roger Rozen introduced his father in-law Sidney Clotfelter. In WWII, Mr. Clotfelter trained soldiers at Ft. Lewis to engineer bridges. He is also one of only three surviving members of the Marietta High School Class of 1932.

Don Scott was an honored guest of the club. He served on a B-17 during WWII flying bombing missions over Germany. His plane was shot down and he served the remainder of the war as a prisoner of war in Germany.

Dan Cox of the Marietta Museum of History visited with the club and brought a very nice WWII exhibit for the program.

George Suhr’s wife Joan visited with the club.

Bennett Frye gave sunshine for the recent birth of his second grandchild.

Steve McNeel lost a bet with Past President Sam Ainsworth and ate crow for lunch. He gave sunshine for LSU’s defeat of Georgia.

Paul Stewart gave sunshine for his 30th wedding anniversary with wife Marta.

Past President Roger Rozen gave sunshine for his son passing the bar and landing a paying job. He also said “Roll Tide”!

Norm Finley gave sunshine for Kim Gresh’s fantastic dancing in The Nutcracker.

Past President Stewart Carlin gave sunshine for his oldest daughter who is pregnant with Stewart’s first grandchild.

Past President Phil Medlin gave sunshine for Spencer Mullins finishing chemotherapy.

Spencer Mullins gave sunshine for the club’s support during his health issues. He gave a special thanks to Phil & Pat Medlin.

Past President John Elliott reminded members to support Cobb Christmas by volunteering, donating toys or donating cash.

Floyd Hale announced that the Good Samaritan Health Center of Cobb was having an open house on Wednesday from 10-2.

Past President Rene Lanier reminded members that Bring One for the Chipper would take place on January 7th.

Past President Roger Rozen reminded members that the holiday party is on the evening of Friday, December 9th at Kim Gresh’s home.

Kim Gresh gave members some arrival logistics for the holiday party.

Past President Bob Thomas introduced the day’s speaker.

WWII Veteran George F. Suhr gave an overview of his service with the U.S. Army’s 66th Infantry Division and the sinking of the SS Leopoldville by German submarine U-486.
