Jerrymadeashortthankyouspeechandwillhopefully
becomeevenmoreofaregularthanhehasalreadybeen
overthepastfewmonths.
Wewerealsocheckedoutbyaprospectivenewmember,
movingintotheareafromRedhill,anexperienced(pastPresident,currentSecretarylookingtotakeovermyjobasap)GordonHillier.HopefullytheOldHouseatHomeand
thewell-oiledproceedingsgavehimagoodimpression
canthavebeentoobadasheisalsocomingtoourClubAssemblyattheendofthemonthattheDorsetArms.

As promised, the following are the results of yesterdays
Regional final of the YoungEnterprise event for the Area Board of
Mid Sussex.The overall winner was 'Enigma' from Hurstpierpoint
College.However, the team we mentored, Compingo, did extremely well
with their Cookery Book,winning the following

StevenbeganBrightonHomeshavingleft
Choicesafter14years.Sincethen,hehasbuilt
uptheagencytoincludeeightstaffona24
hourtelephonehelpline,twoskilledhandymen
andthinkingofathirdandnowmanagesover
300propertiesaswellasgolfing,boating,flyingalightaeroplaneand(gulp)fishing.
Howheachievedallthisinarelativelyshorttimewasfascinatingandprobablybestleftbetweenthe
rathertight-fittingwalls(butunfortunatelynosimilarfittingdoor)oftheOldHouseatHome.

So,onthegoodside,Stevencomesoverasagreatguyandremarkable
entrepreneur.Mostofushavesomefailingsthoughwellyoualldoanyway,sowemusttrytooverlookthegolfand(gulp)fishing.
