Annual report 2017-2018
INSTALLATION 10/1/2018:
The formal installation of the President and his Board of office bearers of the Rotaract
Club of Loyola College 2017-2018 was conducted in M.R F Hall in the campus. The installation
ceremony started by 10:30 after the arrival of the Chief Guest,Rtn.Shesha sai of Rotary Club of
Madras and the Guest of Honour Mr. George Cherian . Rtr.IPP Rehen Ahmed the outgoing
President delivered his welcome address followed by the Secretary Report presented by outgoing
Secretary Rtr.Wasif Khan. After the collaring of the new President Rtr.Subodh by the outgoing
President a speech was given by the current President himself addressing the gathering. The
President and his team of Office Bearers were inducted to serve the club by taking an Oath. The
club charter and the books of accounts were exchanged by the Secretary. The Chief Guest for
the day enlightened the gathering with his wonderful speech to the Green Rotaracters followed
by the delightful speech of the Guest of Honour, a past Loyolite himself, sharing his student and
Rotaract experience.
Guest of honour, Faculty coordinator, Past President, Secretary, the GRR and other
guests were facilitated for their esteemed presence. The ceremony was attended by aroun 25
Green Rotaracters and members from other clubs as well. The installation ended with the
Secretary delivering the Vote of Thanks.
PRE-CONFERENCE(RESPECT) 26/01/2018:
Our first project which took our club name to next level was the pre-conference. The Pre
conference was hosted by us along with the Rotaract club of Chennai. It was an day event with
cultural extravaganza and faculty honouring session combined.
The event blasted off at 9.30 a.m. with lighting of kuthu vilakku by our chief guests Rtn.Joseph
Raja and Rtn.Sesha sai along with DRR and DRS pre conference chairman and other core
members of Conference.
In the morning we had an variety competition like mime, dance, singing, etc. we had an overall
registration of 15 teams for various events. At the end of the session we had two winning teams
who are qualified to perform in main conference. we called off the event at 2.00pm for lunch.
In the afternoon session, the honoring session of all the faculties of all the clubs coming under
district 3232. the ADRC the Faculty Co-ordinator Prof. Justin Sophia was honored with a
memento for her outstanding support lent to the students, RCLC thereby lending her support to
the Rotary District. The district rotaract representative came up with a special speech for all the
clubs followed by their Awards. The event was dispersed at 5.00pm.
OCEANUS 27/01/2018
CLUB OFFICE REORGANISED AND CLEANENING:
The first club service project of the year was the cleaning and reorganisation of the club
office. The board members assembled at the club office for this task. The existing cleaning
equipment of the club was used. The first task was to sort out the things that were useful to the
club and the non-useful items were dumped in a box later to be thrown out. The tables, chairs,
cupboard and the almirah were repositioned. The board members split up into two groups where
one group cleaned the dust, waste and discarded items and the other mopped the floor cleanly
after that. This task of cleaning and properly reorganising took about 2 hours to complete to
make the club prepared for the year.
EPIC CONFERENCE- 10 and 11/02 /18
The Annual District Rotaract Conference 17-18 titled 'EPIC' was held for two days at
Chettinad shool The conference was attended by the members of Rotaract Club of Loyola
College. This two day conference was marked with utmost utilization of the availabe time by
speeches of renowned personalities and cultural programs. Attended by almost all clubs in the
Rotary District 3232 Rotaract Club of Loyola College sure was at a spotlight for the entire event.
Right from the day 1 to the valedictory on the day 2 the Green Rotaracters maintained their
enthusiasm while upholding the standards of Loyola College which was appreciated very much
by almost all the clubs attending the ADRC.The conference was filled with inspiring and
motivating speeches while maintaining the zeal and enthusiasm of the crowd.The President and
the Secretary were also honoured for their hard work and helping the Rotary District. . row. This
two days of various cultural and motivation was an utmost benefit to the Green Rotaracters who
were overjoyed for attending this conference.
RAISE A VOICE 15 February to 28February:
THAIMOZHI -21/02/2018
On behalf of the International Mother language day the Rotaract club of Loyola college
celebrated it with other fellow clubs. A representative from each club was asked to send a video
saying a tagline in their respective mother tongue .More than 50 rotaractors have sent their
videos to us. But, due to the problem in their video quality and due to the length of the video we
only selected the best videos .
RICH INDIA POOR INDIANS(photography contest) 21/2/2018:
RICH INDIA POOR INDIANS is a photography contest which was an online event. we put up
posters in all department notice boards regarding the event on 19/2/18. We received an overall
registration of 10 participants from various colleges. All the participants were asked to send
their photos to the club mail id.we gave them the topic as CHILD LABOUR. We received
various amazing images which made us confused with the results. After careful scrutiny we had
two participants with same scores. So we kept again a tie breaker by giving them the theme of
wildlife photography. Eventually, we picked up the winner(vignesh from vivekanda college) and
honoured him with cash prize of Rs.200 along with certificate of merit.
LITTLE CREATORS 22/02/2018:
“Little Creators”, as the name indicates it was a
competition to exhibit the latent talents of you
young children. On the day of competition, we
started off the event by 10.30 a.m. We gave each
student a pack of crayons and drawing sheets.
We have divided the students in to two divisions
namely,
Group-1 = std.1-3
Group-2= std.4&5
The children’s were eager in drawing their favourite cartoons namely minions, penguins, etc. We
initially had an topics like save water, nature,etc.since children were convenient with drawing
national flower, bird we gave the freedom to students of drawing whichever they are convenient.
At 12.15 pm, we had a small ceremony to give prizes to the winners. The gifts were given by
our special guest Rtr. Sesha sai to the first division, followed by the second division.

TREASURE HUNT -23/02/2018:
The Club service project carried out the 'Treasure Hunt' which is a legacy of the RCLC.
This event is organised for the NSS for many years It is a fun filled event of finding clues whilst
building trust and friendship with new people. Around 100 students participated in this event
managed by the board members. The whole of our college premises was used for this event and
totally ten clues were given to the shuffled teams to find. The event lasted for around 2.5 hours
starting from 9-11.30 a.m. Prizes were given to the members of the winning team.
PRADHIBA 24/02/2018:
The rotaract club of Stella maris organised a cultural event for the differently challenged
people .The members of the Rotaract club of Loyola College were spectators for that event and
they encouraged the the participants
Lending Hands
Eye Camp -01/03/2018:
Free eye camp was organized by the Rotaract Club of Loyola College, sponsored by Rotary Club
Of Madras, in Daya Sadan for inmates who were physically or mentally challenged, orphans and
homeless people. .
The medical camp started at 9 am with a welcome speech by Rtr. Ashwin. Loyola college The
volunteers from Daya Sadan and Rotaract Club of Loyola College were involved in registration
and medical cards. Eye Check-up was done by Uma Eye Clinic with one doctor, three Assistants
and Volunteers. Rotaract Club of Loyola College provided Break fast and Lunch for the doctors
and volunteers.
The guests who gave their gracious presence were Rtn. Shesha Sai Sir, who had largely
supported in the conduct of this camp, Rtn. Shanno Ravi, the chairperson for medical camps in
Rotary Club Of Madras , Mrs Justin Sophia, the faculty coordinator of Rotaract Club of Loyola
College. A small felicitation was arranged for doctors from hospitals. Nearby 100 people were
benefited through this camp. In the eye camp, it was identified that some people had problem in
sight, some had cataract problems and some were referred to Uma Eye Clinic for free
treatment.It was a heartfelt pleasure service for the needy.
Dental Camp 1/3/18
Dental Check-up was done by the Ragas Dental College. Totally four Doctors and assistants
came from the Dental College for the Camp
TENTKOTTAI 01/03/2018:
Tentkottai an interesting initiative by our
club on 1st March 2017. To create
awareness on various important issues
going on in our society a short film was
projected to the Government school
chindren in their school. This movie
was on the genre of social justice. After
the movie, the students were asked to
write what they had learnt from the
movie. Thus, this event clubbed the fun
and the awareness on social justice together proving this initiative to be a success
UTHIRAM 3/03/2018:
The Rotaract club of Loyola College conducted a blood camp in a Government Hospital in
Egmore .Numerous people including the Green Rotaracters participated and donated their blood
The Camp started at 9 am and nearly 30 people donated their blood . And 10 of them donated for
the first time. The camp ended at 1 pm .This camp has encouraged many people to donate their
blood regularly. The donated blood will be used in the treatment of Cancer patients.
CLIMATE CHANGE:
The Rotaract Club of Loyola College took an initiative to spread the awareness of climate
change the Green Rotaracters were asked to do a research on climate change and were asked to
send their opinion of their research .Later all the videos were documented and published. This
event created a huge impact among the Green Rotaracters.
