Eliminate portfolios.

Expand Attainment Tasks to measure reading, mathematics, science, social studies and writing.

KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201222Alternate Portfolios are no longer part of the Alternate Assessment; Attainment Tasks will be provided for all content areas over multiple test windows. Reading, mathematics and writing will follow the KCAS-KAAP content aligned standards. 222012 February DAC MeetingsKDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012Whats NewScience and social studies standards remain Core Content for Assessment 4.1 for 2011-2012.

New requirements for the Alternate Assessment and Accountability Folder (AAAF).

New monitoring requirements.

KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201223Science and Social Studies will continue to follow standards from Core Content 4.1. Since the removal of the portfolio and our most effective way of tracking student work; the requirements for the Alternate Assessment and Accountability Folder or AAAF will increase to highlight student work and teacher implementation.232012 February DAC MeetingsKDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012Online Training SystemOnline Training Systemhttp://www.hdi.uky.edu/kap/OTS/Default.aspx

KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201234Teachers will only have access to enter student scores during the assessment window. The SRD will remain open approximately one week after the assessment administration ends for the window. The Learner Characteristics Inventory (LCI) will be required before a submission can be considered complete. These are the same questions asked last year.342012 February DAC MeetingsKDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012Destroy MaterialsNOTHING SHIPS BACK FROM DISTRICTAfter all tasks are administered, materials should be provided back to the DAC.DAC should (or may assign someone) shred all Attainment Tasks that have been administered. This process should occur at the conclusion of Test Windows 1 and 2.KEEP BINDERS (DACS SHOULD KEEP THEIR COMPLETE DAC BINDER UNTIL END OF SCHOOL YEAR)KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201235After administration of the materials is complete; DACs should see that the materials have been destroyed. The K-PREP assessments (blended NRT/CRT) are timed tests.

Each content area test is divided into multiple parts (i.e., parts A, B and C).

Each part is a separate test session.

Proctors must stop at the end of each part for a break.

Breaks may be short (i.e., stand and stretch) or long (i.e., lunch) with appropriate monitoring.

65KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012Each part is a separate test session. You can no longer combine parts A, B and C. Remind BACs to inform teachers that they must stop at the end of each part for a break.65KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012 K-PREP ADMINISTRATIONK-PREP Blueprint

66Assessments are developed using a blueprint range. This reflects primarily an equal coverage of content subdomains.

Blueprint available on KDE website. Enter K-PREP Blueprint in search box.

Revised (1/20/2012) for On Demand Writing, the following statement added: The ODW blueprint will shift from year-to-year so that all students have an opportunity to write different types of passage-based prompts and non-passage-based prompts. KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201266KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201267

Make-ups for those missing the last day(s) of testing may be completed within 4 days after the window ends.

71KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/201271KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012 Five-Day Testing ScheduleSenate Bill 1 established a five-day test window in the last 14 (instructional) days of a districts calendar for the 2012 K-PREP.

Five-day schedule is a school schedule, not a grade by grade schedule. The levels are elementary, middle and high school.

The five days must be consecutive.

Any day a regular test session is scheduled is considered a test day, no matter how long or short a session you have scheduled. You cannot count the test days as day on Tuesday and another day on Wednesday.

72KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012Five-Day Testing ScheduleIt is important to schedule start times of sessions to allow time between sessions for extended time (regular time, time and a half and double time) for IEP, 504 Plan or PSP students. The expected time should be adequate for all students.

Extended time allowed only for those with accommodations in an IEP, 504 Plan, or PSP. Make arrangements for students who need extended time to have a place to complete the test, so that other students can go back to instructional activities.73Be aware of need for accommodations as you create the school test schedule. At the end of the day students with regular and extended time needs to have finished the same parts of the test.KDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012If you have unique situations or problems trying to get accommodated students tested, please call OAA.

Do not start a test section if it is unlikely that it can be finished that same day. You cannot continue the next day, except under very rare situations-student becomes ill or a school emergency occurs (fire drill, bomb threat). If you are uncertain as to how to handle a situation, please contact OAA.

Extended time students may be moved to another test location to complete testing. Until they finish the same test parts as regular time students, they should be kept separate or interaction well monitored.

BreaksKDE:OAA:DSR: 2/10/2012You do not have to start on a Monday for testing. Once you start testing it has to be consecutive and could cross the weekend. For example, a school starts testing on Wednesday and you will test on Thursday and Friday then pick up on Monday. Testing would be complete on Tuesday. If a school has an odd configuration as a 5-8 or 7-12 etc. each level can have a different 5-day window or the same window. ( Example: I have a 3rd and 4th grade in one building but my 5th grade is housed in the middle school, the 5th grade could be different from the 6-8). Tape must be on the corners of the text being inserted but not covering multiple choice answers, barcodes or timing tracks. Place clear desk tape at least on the four corners of the printed response so the pages are securely in place and will not move around when the booklet is moved, opened, closed, packaged or during shipping.
