The playground equipment has been installed. It has been nice to see the many children getting enjoyment from it. It’s also nice to see people along with their dogs are also getting enjoyment from the walking trail. Please note doggie bags are supplied for your convenience. Please take used bags along with you and dispose of properly.

Black topping for this season is now complete. Shoulder work is being done and line striping is scheduled.

Winter weather will soon be upon us. Please be mindful when snow plowing begins, any vehicle left in the Township right of way will be towed at owners expense. Snow from properties must not be shoveled or pushed in the roadway. Any mail box, fences or other objects in the Township right of way that sustain damages during regular road maintenance or during ice/snow storms will be the responsibility of property owner.

The Alumni of Flyte School House met at the old school building on July 14th at 6:30 p.m. to renew our memories of our days in the old school.

The school is used every Monday night by the Boy Scouts of America, Troop #102. The boys were very hospitable to our group of 21. In fact, they welcomed us by writing a sign on the old blackboard; it said “Welcome Alumni of Flyte School”. We took pictures and reminisced about our days in the old school.

We then went to Jim and Jean Haneys’ (our hostesses) for cake and ice cream. Jim asked each of us to share memories of our time at school. The one thing that stood out was we made up our own games and used our imaginations to make them, we had a good time doing it. We shared good memories, funny memories and some memories we should have forgotten.

We had a wonderful time and wish everyone could have been there.

Back row left to right: Frances Gower, Jean Haney, Chet Hinton, Ray Bond, Lee Bond, Dale Bartholomew, Janet Ziegenfus, and Joan Frank. Front row left to right: Joan Blake, Unetta Hildabrant, LeRoy Raseley, Oliver Nordmark, Elaine Adams, Cathann Hummer, Marion Sobers.

In July we received a memo from Monroe County Control Center with reference to this project. Enclosed is informa-tion of projected dates of notification letters to be sent to residents. At this time these are approximate dates barring any discrepancies or conflicts.

It appears Paradise and Eldred are first on the list and are August 13th and 27th. It is estimated that Ross Township could be slated for the middle to end of November. Once again any questions should be directed to Kim Borger 570-420-3466 or www.monroeco911.com , then click on addressing.
