Being Neighborly - part 1by Sylvester on 04/28/10Here is a little story that comes to mind when I think about our old neighbors.

We were all hanging around together one afternoon.  I'm guessing I was about 10 years old. Barney (the dog) was out back for a while and Mom decided it was time for him to come inside.  She goes to the backdoor and says Barney---the next thing we hear is a voice that says  WHAT?  Im thinking, do not even go there and tell me the DOG is talking now, too!  So Mom says  who said that   and the voice says  I did, Barney, didn't you call Barney.  I'm flipping out as Mom goes outside only to discover that it was not the dog, it was our neighbors brother who came for a visit, and his name was Barney!

Just what I would have needed - another talking animal in the house!
