INT. ROSE HAVEN- 1950S

THE RECORD PLAYER out in the lobby is playing "Johnny B.Good" By Chuck Berry.

A man DR. AMES, walks into a room to check on a patient.

The man lying in the bed is sleeping.

Dr. Ames walks out into the hallway.

DR. AMESPatient 0021 is still asleep.

VOICEJust give him the shot anyway, Dr.Ames!

DR. AMES

What?! That could kill him!

VOICEJust give him the shot!

Dr. Ames walks back into the room and sits down in the chairbeside the patient.

He looks on the table beside the patient and sees a dusty,old book lying on the table.

VOICERead it! Pick up the book, and read

it! You know you want to.

DR. AMESNo, its illegal to do that.

VOICEDo it! Pick up the book! Lookinside.

The patient opens his eyes just as Dr. Ames lifts the bookup off the table.

PATIENTDont read from the book!

Dr. Ames drops the book back on the table.

DR. AMESI wasnt.

PATIENTYes you were, I literally just sawyou pick it up and read from it.

DR. AMESI wasnt going to read it. Maybe

skim through it a little bit.

The patient sits up in his bed.

PATIENTYou know what you did is illegal,and I can report you to the managerof this hospital!

DR. AMESThis is a retirement home, not ahospital. Youre lucky we broughtyou in. What were you doing along

the side of the road anyway? In acold winter like this you couldhave frozen.

PATIENTI was running.

DR. AMESRunning? Why would you go out on ajog in twenty below temperatures?

PATIENTI wasnt out for a jog, I was

running from somebody.

DR. AMESThey were chasing you?

PATIENTYes. Yes they were.

VOICEStop talking and finish him off!

DR. AMESJust shut up! Let me talk for onceyou son of a bitch! Just shut upfor one damn minute!

PATIENTWell if thats---

DR. AMESNo, not you, just continue withyour story. Who were you runningfrom?

PATIENT

There was this...

The patient looks out in the hallway and sees a man dressedin black standing there looking at him.

PATIENTThat man!

Dr. Ames turns around and sees nobody.

DR. AMESI see nobody out there, littledude.

PATIENTHe was just there! I saw him!

VOICEGive him the shot! Give him theshot! Do it! Give him the goddamnshot!

Dr. Ames starts to pull his hair and scratch at his face.

The patient looks at him all confused.

VOICEDo it Ames! Kill him! Give him theshot! Shut him up and read from thebook!

DR. AMESIf I do it will you get away fromme?!

VOICEYes, yes I will! Just do it!

Dr. Ames pulls a syringe out of his white lab coat pocketand sticks the patient full of air.

PATIENTWhat the hell did you just---

The patient holds his arm, and then starts to scream.

All of a sudden it goes quiet, all of Rose Haven is silent.

The patient is dead.

Dr. Ames picks up the book and opens it to the first page.

"If you opened this book, you will die." The first pagesays.

DR. AMESUh oh, that cant be good.

An echo can be heard from the air vents. Screaming andburning and other ghostly noises.

Dr. Ames looks out into the hallway and sees a tail likething slither by the door.

DR. AMESWhat have I done?

MAN IN BLACKYou have opened a portal, a portalto another place, an unearthlyplace.

THE RECORD PLAYER switches songs and "Man in Black" byJohnny Cash plays.

Dr. Ames turns around and sees the man in black standingthere.

The man grabs Dr. Ames throat and pulls out a syringe andstabs him in the throat with it.

Dr. Ames holds his throat and falls to the ground.

The man in black walks over to a green oxygen tank in theroom and twists the valve.

He lets the oxygen fill the room for a few minutes.

He walks over to a chair and sits down in it and takes out alighter.

MAN IN BLACKGod have mercy, for what thesepeople have unleashed, pleaseforgive me, Lord.

The man in black lights his lighter.

The whole room explodes, catching everything on fire, andsoon spreading the fire to the rest of the nursing home ofRose Haven.

FADE OUT

INT. CLASSROOM- DAY

MR. GARRISON

Good evening class. Before I beginour lesson for today, does anybodyknow which popular holiday is beingcelebrated in a few days? Thatsright, Halloween. I read your mindsbefore you even had a chance tospeak. And that is why ghouls andgoblins and ghosts do not exist,children. Its science thatexplains everything about us.Ghouls and goblins and othercreatures that go bump in the nightare just stories. Ghosts are a

religious figure that are eithermeant to inspire or haunt us.Science cant find anything dealingwith ghosts. For example, thatshow... Ghost Hunters, they neveractually find anything, do they?Orbs? Theyre just lights from thecamera mixing with another lightsomewhere in the area, causing aglare. Im not attacking religion,but Jesus, the holy spirit, thatsanother myth. The physical pain theman went through would be

unbearable for anybody. He "Died ofa broken heart", come on people,use your heads! That kind of stuffjust doesnt happen. If it didhappen, the man clearly wasnt deadand the men just didnt check hisvital signs correctly. So there areno such things as ghost, goblins,or monsters.

The Teacher, Mr Garrison, walks around the classroom,observing the juniors and seniors of his classroom.

MR. GARRISONAlso, if ghosts existed, sciencewould have no way to prove theyexist, making us wrong. And peoplewould get the wrong impression ofscientists and theorists.

Mr. Garrison smiles and lets out a little giggle.

One of the female students raises her hand. Mr. Garrisonlooks over at her.

MR. GARRISONYes, Zoey?

ZOEYMr. Garrison, just because youcant prove it, doesnt make it nottrue.

MR. GARRISONZoey, I am not attacking yourChristianity, I am just doing myjob. Please do not make thispersonal. Its part of the chorus,youre forced to take this class, Iunderstand you do not enjoylistening to me diss your religion.

But when youre in my class youhave to listen to me weather youbelieve me or not, capeach?

ZOEYNow what about your "Big BangTheory," how do you prove that? Youscientists just go out and observerocks and say "Yep, thats abillion year-old rock!"

MR. GARRISONNow, Zoey, I think youre

oversimplifying that a lot.

ZOEYLook, Mr. Garrison, I understandthat you are just doing your job,okay. I am just trying to get youto lay off the subject of myreligion.

MR. GARRISONZoey, I understand that you areangry and upset at people like me.But, I mean come on, let me atleast try and talk some sense intoyou. You say your god loves you, doyou not? If a man loves his childso much, why does he torture them?

salt, or however the story went?Well its not her fault that shelooked back. Curiosity is a lotmore powerful than the power toobey. Your god killed her becauseher instinct kicked in. Does thatsound like a loving got to you?

ZOEYLets just drop this conversation.

MR. GARRISONJust wait a minute... and another

example. If were bad on earth, weburn forever in a dark pit? Doesthat sound like a loving god? Youthink hed lighten up and let morepeople into the gates of heaven. Ifhe loves us so much, why does he dothat? He does lighten up a littleaccording to the new testament, hestopped schmiting people left andright, but he still wont let hisloved ones, *US* into his kingdombecause we made some mistakes inour time? Does that sound like a

loving god to you, Zoey?

ZOEYWhy do you attack our religion?Because you dont have any proof?Are you afraid to die? I guaranteewhen you grow old and your lovedones and friends are dropping likeflies, you *WILL* convert to areligion, in fear of dying. Itseverybodys fear, to die. You willfear it when youre old, youllwant to look forward to something,and then when everybody you love isgone and youre all thats left,you will turn to God.

Mr. Garrisons face starts to get red. He starts yelling.

pictures, video record it,whatever! Prove that spirits andghosts exist! If YOU can do that, Iwill quit my job. I will completelyforget about everything I learnedas a science teacher and become aJesus freak like yourself! Is thatfair?! Be logic for once, Zoey! Inyour moronic little life, be logic!Look and listen! Look around, doyou actually see signs? Does thelord answer your prayers? That isseriously going to be so funny when

you find out there is no god andyou were just kneeling there at theend of your bed with your handspressed together and you looking upat the ceiling and there was nobodylistening. So you know what, goahead and take a couple days offand go research some local"haunted" house. And when you dontfind anything, Ill be the one whosaid "I told you so".

ZOEYYou know what, I will! I get out ofthis stupid class for one week justto prove you wrong. I cant wait todo that! And I definitely cantwait to see you quit your job!

MR. GARRISONGet out of my classroom now, youstupid little girl.

Mr. Garrison turns to the classroom.

MR. GARRISONAnybody else want to go with thisreligious freak to try and prove mewrong? Anybody? You get out of thisclass for an entire week! What areyou waiting for.

The boy in the back of the room stands up and walks out thedoor.

INT. HALLWAY

Zoey is walking down the hall. Adam runs up beside her andstarts walking.

ADAMJeez, Mr. Garrison is a dick, huh?

ZOEY

Dont worry about it, Adam.

ADAMHey, Im with you on this, youknow?

ZOEYI kind of figured when you ran upbehind me. That obviously means youwalked out of his class.

ADAMGood point. Youre a smart girl.

Youll find some way to prove himwrong, wont you?

ZOEYIm going to Rose Haven up onMountain View Drive for theweekend.

Adam stops in his tracks and Zoey takes a few steps furtherand stops. She turns around and looks at Adam.

ZOEYWhat?

ADAMThat place is cursed.

ZOEYExactly.

Zoey continues to walk.

FADE OUT

INT. ZOEYS HOUSE- DAY

There are 8 people in the house. five guys and three girls.

There is Jake, Kevin, Adam, Josh, and Ben for the guys.There are also three girls NOT including Zoey. These peopleare Kelli, Ellen, and Danni.

Josh and Ben are talking. Zoey comes in and shuts the door.

BENHey, man. Why are we here?

ZOEYWait a minute and Ill tell all ofyou.

BENHey, listen, how long is this goingto take? Mom made chicken nuggetsfor supper and Im starving.

Ellen turns around.

ELLENShut up and let her talk.

JOSHNo, you shut up. When a brothashungry, a brothas hungry. Give the

guy a break. He hasnt eaten sincebreakfast. He skipped lunch to finddirections to this girls house.Not eating for a few hours is likenot eating an entire day for him.So leave him alone.

ELLENYou two are such losers.

BENWhy, because we stick up for eachother?

Kelli turns around.

KELLINo, because you wont shut the hellup and let Zoey talk.

ZOEYAlright people. Heres whats up.Were going to this place abouttwenty miles from here. The placeis called Rose Haven.

JOSHOh yeeah! My grandma was in thatplace when it burnt down!

KEVINOh my gosh. Is she okay?

JOSHNo, shes pretty much dead to menow...

ELLEN

JOSH! Thats ignorant! How couldyou say that about yourgrandmother?

JOSHWell, I said she was IN the placewhen it burnt down. So unless shehad fireproof skin and faked herdeath, shes not alright.

KEVINAlright, no need to be a smart ass.

JOSH(mocking)

ZOEYAlright guys, cut it out.

ZOEYOkay, as you all know, Ive beensuspended from school for arguing

with the science teacher.

BENOh yeah! i heard about that. Sowhatd ya argue about.

ZOEYOh it was just some stupid thingabout religion and science.

BENEh, yeah. Religion and sciencetogether is like mayo as icing foryour birthday cake.

ZOEYYeah, really. Anyway, so Mr.Garrison and I got into an argumentover some stuff.

JOSHGet to the point.

ZOEYWere going to Rose Haven.

JOSHSo, what are we gonna call thisclan? Can we call it Ghostbusters,ya know, like Mythbusters?

BENNo, Josh, Ghostbusters alreadyexists.

JOSHOh, well that kinda sucks.

EXT. ROAD- DAY

Two cars are driving down the road.

IN THE CAR Ben and Josh are bobbing their heads to whateveris playing on the radio.

Danni and Jake are in the back seat making out. Ben turnsaround and slaps Jake on the butt and quickly turns backaround.

Jake looks up and slaps Josh across the head. Josh lets goof the steering wheel and turns around to hit Jake back. Bentaps Josh on the shoulder. Josh looks ahead and grabs a holdof the wheel.

IN THE OTHER CAR Zoey, Kevin, Kelli, Ellen, and Adam are inthe car. Adam is driving. Zoey turns to Adam and smiles.Kelli puts her hand on Kevins leg. Ellen rolls her eyes atKelli.

IN THE OTHER CAR Ben, Josh, Danni, and Jake are bobbingtheir heads to the song on the radio.

EXT. ROSE HAVEN DRIVE WAY

Zoey steps out of the car and looks at the abandonedRetirement home. She seems to by hypnotized by it.

Adam steps out of the car.

ADAMYep, there she is. I have to behonest, Im quite afraid to go inthere. I was only on the outsideand that was enough to make me pissmy pants.

KEVINWow, Adam. Big jock like you pisseshis pants? Thatd ruin your rep ifI were to write that in the schoolpaper, wouldnt it?

Adam smiles and walks over to Kevin. He starts to fakelaugh.

ADAMHardy har. You put that in thepaper youll wake up dead.

Kevin is about to open his mouth, but Kelli puts her fingeron his lips to hush him.

Ben opens the car door and looks up at the creepy Rose Havenbuilding.

Josh gets out and looks up at the house as well.

JOSH

Well we dont have to go INSIDE, dowe?

BENYes, we do.

JOSHDAMN!

Josh Reaches into his pocket.

JOSHGood thing I brought these.

Josh pulls out two small pocket knives.

BENWhat the hell did you bring thosefor?

JOSHHey, If I see a ghost, I ainttaking no chances, man!

BENyou cant stab a ghost.

JOSH... Theyre silver blades. Silvercan kill ghosts.

BENNo they cant.

JOSHYes they can. Look, I saw it inthat one movie, i know what---

BENWhat movie?

JOSH... that one that was on TV theother day.

BENHow so?

JOSH... i dont know. it was the onlycome back I could come up with.

Ben turns around to see Jake and Danni kissing.

BENCome on, guys. Lets get our stuffout of the car.

Zoey is still looking up at the windows on the second floor.She seems to be in a type of trance.

BEN(voice)

Zoey, help us get our bags!

Zoey blinks a few times and slowly turns to the group, butkeeps her eye on the building until she completely turnsaround.

BEGINNING CREDITS

INT. ROSE HAVEN- DAY

The door is closed. The house is silent.

A record player sitting on a shelf starts to spin and playan old song. "Come and Go With Me" by Dell Vikings plays onthe record player.

THE STAIRS ARE EMPTY

THE KITCHEN IS DUSTY

THE HALLS ARE DARK

THE DOORS TO ALL OF THE ROOMS ARE CLOSED.

THE LIGHT ON THE RECORD PLAYER FLASHES

Then Josh kicks open the door.

The Record player comes to a dead stop and the lights turnoff.

JOSHLucy! Im home!

Everybody walks right past josh with their bags.

Ben looks at Josh and rolls his eyes and continues to walkpast him.

JOSHThat was from "I Love Lucy" theshow.

BENYeah, I know.

Kelli drops her bags in the lobby.

KELLIyou know, for a run down place likethis, it doesnt look that bad onthe inside.

BEN(under his breath)

Thats what she said.

KELLIWhat was that?

BENNothing.

Zoey drops her bags and quickly pulls out some device.

KEVINWhats that?

ZOEYI dont really know. I took it frommy dad. Its some type of heatsensor. I heard we can use this tosee if there are any entities.

JOSHSo were here for an entire week?

ADAMThats right.

Everybody stands behind her dumbfounded. Zoey turns around.

JAKEWe thought you were going to bringthe stuff. We didnt know we had to

bring our own stuff.

ZOEYDamn you guys.

Zoey sits the device down and walks over to the other guys.

The device picks up movement. What appears to be a humanwalks past the screen on the device.

Zoey walks back over and picks it up.

ZOEY

just use my stuff, then.

Ben drops his bags and kneels down and unzips the bag.

BENI DID bring my boom box though.

Ben pulls out an old boom box from the 90s.

ELLENYou still listen to CDs?

BENSometimes. Why?

DANNIWake up and Smell the newmillennium, Ben. Everybody moved onto MP3.

ADAMWhatd you bring a boom box foranyway?

BENUgh... Well I DO listen to music.

ZOEYWell, were here. So everybody keepa lookout.

KEVINSo, what exactly are we looking forto prove that these ghosts arereal? I mean, cmon, how do youprove that a small little white

blur is a ghost?

ZOEYWell, first, you need toinvestigate and observe things verycarefully. The slightest lookingblur or distorted object could be aghost.

ADAMYeah, Kevin, like they do on thatstupid tv show about ghost huntersor whatever. Just pretty much look

for things that look like people.

In the mean time, Josh and Ben walk into the next room tothe right of the main entrance room and start to look forclues.

INT. ROOM 1

BENDude, what if they killed people inthis place like they did on Houseon Haunted Hill?

JOSHWell, wouldnt that suck? But thenwe could prove that ghosts existedand then take off the rest of theweek of school.

BEN(thinks to himself, thenspeaks)

That sounds really good to me. But,everyone died except those twopeople and the only person with a

camera died in the beginning.

JOSHWell, wed need a camera, someslime, a bag of chips and a potato.

BENAnd wed need those things--

JOSHBecause, if we can catch the"ghost" on camera, we can slime itso its visible, then throw the

chips and the potato on the slimeand take it back to the others.

BENAnd what would we get out of that?

JOSHWell, we would have a snack, yaknow, chips and dip?

BEN(beneath his breath)

Thats not a bad idea. Its like a

walking buffet, sort of, but onlyguacamole and chips.

INT. ROSE HAVEN - DAY

Back in the main hall of the Rose Haven building.

ELLENHey, Kevin, have you found anythingyet? I havent and Im sick oflooking for white cum shots andfaces.

KEVINNo, I havent found anything yet.Ill cum shot you later tonight.

KELLIHa, sure, but I think Jake andDanni beat us to that.

Kevin points over to where Jake and Danni are and it showsthem laying together, not looking for ghosts.

KEVINHey! Thats enough you two, save itfor tonight!

ZOEYHey, its getting dark out, letsleave and come back tomorrow.

ADAMSounds good to me, Zoe. Imstarting to get hungry right now.

Adam walks over to the door and tries to open it up, but thedoor doesnt budge.

ADAM

What the hell? It wont open.

Adam tries again to open the door, and this time, the doorknob falls off to reveal that the screws had been loosened.

ADAMGreat.

ZOEYWhat?

ADAMIts stuck. The knob came off and

it wont open.

KEVINBreak a window.

Kevin and Adam go over to a window and try to smash it open.Kevin gets cut on his hand and Adam gets cut on his elbow.Behind the glass the window was covered up with bars thathad spikes on them.

ADAMShit, that hurt.

All of a sudden, Bens Boombox turns on and the radio turnson, and another old song plays. "Heartbreak Hotel" By Elvis.

Ben and Josh walk out of the kitchen to see everyone staringat the boombox that is playing old music.

An ear splitting scream came from the direction Ellen went.

ZOEYWho was that? Ellen?

ADAMWhere did she go?

INT. HALLWAY LEFT ROOM 10

Ellens blood trail can be seen running down the hall where

she last traveled.

ZOEYOh my gosh.

KELLIWhat happened?

Ben looks at the blood trail. He turns to Zoey and rolls hiseyes.

BENI see whats going on here. Youre

trying to scare us into thinkingthis place really is haunted.

ZOEYWhat are you talking about?

BENYou wanted us to find proof thatghosts exist for your littlescience project. You actually thinkthis will get us to believe thatthere are ghosts in this place?

ZOEYBen, we have been best friendssince the 4th grade. Do youactually think that I would trickyou?

Ben pulls out his cell phone. He opens it and a face pops upon the phone and screams. Ben drops the phone and covers hisears. An electrical charge explodes and goes into the walls.

BENYeah, Im out of here.

Ben turns and walks down the stairs and to where the frontdoor was.

JOSHWhere is the door?

DANNII watched it go away.

Everybody turns to Danni.

Adam walks over to her.

ADAMWhat happened, Danni?

DANNIIt just melted into the house. Iheard a laugh, and then I lookedover and saw a girl crouched in aball, so I went to see who it was,and she looked up at me. She lookedup with those eyes, those horrible,

Kevin runs downstairs.

KEVINEllens blood is gone!

JOSHAnd theres that.

ZOEY

Alright, lets not panic. Im surethere is some explanation for allof this.

JOSHlike what?

BENIts the supernatural, I swear togod.

Kelli is facing the wall. she starts speaking something inanother language. It might be Latin, it might be gibberish,

but Kellis speaking it, facing the wall away from everyone.Kevin takes a step forward and touches Kellis Shoulder.

KEVINKelli, what are you saying?

Zoey turns around to grab the camera gear.

Ellen is standing there with a slit throat and her mouth iswide open.

Zoey turns around and screams and clings onto Adam.

Adam glides over to Josh and josh hits Adam in the nose withthe flash light. Adam falls to the floor and wipes hisbloody nose. He takes the blood from his nose and licks it.

Adam jumps up and runs toward Josh. Josh throws the big,

metal flashlight at the demon, but it still runs toward him.He takes his stick and throws it at the demon, but itcatches the stick.

Josh turns around to run out into the hallway, but the demonstabs Josh in the arm. Josh turns around and punches thedemon in the head. IT puts a hole in its skull. Josh pullshis hand out of a mushy puddle of brain and puss.

Josh pulls out his lighter as a last resort. He lights thelighter and it catches the demon on fire instantly. The glowfrom the fire is so bright that Zoey and Josh cover theireyes.

The thing screams and the head and tentacle slides back intothe opening in the chest and the chest closes shut with alittle bit of the pole sticking out.

The thing screams again.

JOSHOh shit.

Josh turns and runs out of the way.

He runs over to Zoey.

ZOEYThe knob melted into the house!

JOSHNo, he doesnt have one, I kickedhim there, believe me, if he had---

ZOEYNo! I mean the doorknob!

JOSHOh.

The squid thing looks at Zoey and Josh and then explodesinto a bunch of gooey little pieces.

Josh turns and begins to walk down the dark hallway.

ZOEYWhere are you going?

JOSHHey, we need to find some way outof this house.

ZOEYWell dont go alone.

Zoey begins to walk toward him.

INT. BASEMENT

The door to the dark, slimy, creepy basement opens up.

Zoey and Josh stand at the top of the stairs and look downinto the darkness.

ZOEYAre you ready for this, Josh?

JOSHI was born ready!

The two, holding sharp, blunt objects, walk down the stairsall badass.

Josh quickly turns around the corner once he hits the bottomof the steps.

Zoey gets to the bottom and looks up the stairs.

JOSHWell... we made it to the bottom.

The basement door slams shut.

Zoey and Josh look up at the top of the stairs.

Then the two look at eachother.

JOSHYou have to admit, we saw thatcoming.

ZOEYI knew it would happen.

The two walk further into the dark basement.

They get to a long tunnel with a door at the end of thehallway.

Zoey and Josh look at eachother.

ZOEYWhat are we going to do?

JOSHWell, we can turn back... althoughthere is nothing to turn back to...

OR we can see whats on the otherside of this bad boy.

ZOEYIf I knew the front door was hereand the basement door wasntprobably covered in brick, I wouldchoose the first one.

JOSHWell, it looks like its theladder.

Josh walks toward the door and reaches out and touches thedoorknob. The second he touches the knob, a scream from theother side of the door is heard.

Josh lets go of the doorknob and slowly backs up.

JOSHMaybe your option is wrong.

ZOEYGo!

Josh walks over and twists the knob and the door screechesopen.

A bright light shines in their eyes. Then the light fades.

Josh and Zoey walk forward into the room.

They walk in and turn and see a book setting on a table, avery old book.

JOSHWhat do you think it is?

ZOEYI really dont know, but did yousee those movies with Ash?

JOSHThe chainsaw dude?

ZOEYYeah. That sort of looks like thebook from that movie. Maybe a bookof the dead?

JOSHMaybe.

They walk toward it. They look at the front cover, the words

are unreadable.

Josh opens the book and sees the pages are blank.

JOSHWhat a shitty book.

ZOEYWait, open to page one.

Josh turns to page one.

The book has words written in it:

"The children entered the house, not knowing what they weregetting themselves into. An obnoxious adolescent kicks openthe door like an immature child."

JOSHWow! This is what we did when wegot into the house!

ZOEYOpen to the last page.

Josh opens the the last page with words on it.

"The survivor of the demon of the seven hells goes up to thesecond floor and awaits their death on the sofa... becomingpart of the house."

JOSHIt says something about sevenhells.

A rock-tumbling noise is heard behind the wall where thebook lyes.

Josh backs up.

Zoey and Josh stand side by side and watch chunks of cementcome off of the wall.

JOSHId say run, but I dont know whereto run to.

ZOEYWell we can fight whatever it is.

JOSHZoey! Its making impact tremors!Its gotta be fucking huge!

The wall finally tumbles down and a huge squid-like thing

slithers out of the ten foot gap hole in the wall.

The thing opens its mouth and Bens, Jakes, Ellens,Dannis, Kellis, Kevins, and Adams heads all come out ontentacles and are screaming.

JOSHRun like hell!

The two turn around to run and a tentacle wraps aroundJoshs leg and pulls him toward the huge mouth of the thing.

Josh drops his stick and reaches for it, but the thing dragshim closer to its mouth.

Zoey is standing there paralyzed in fear.

Josh punches the Ben head in the face. Then he turns toreach for the metal pole, hes too far away.

JOSHZoey, help for christ sakes!

Zoey snaps out of it and kicks the pole over to Josh.

Josh grabs a hold of it an spins around and shops thetentacle of Adams head off.

The Adam head is squirming around on the floor beside Josh.

Josh looks at it and hits it with the metal pole.

Josh turns around once more and looks into the eyes of allthe victims as the creatures mouth is open.

JOSHOh, the hell with it.

Josh pulls the knives out of his pocket and stabs the mouthof the giant monster as it engulfs Josh.

The mouth closes and the thing takes him in.

There is silence for a moment as the creature stares atpoor, scared Zoey.

It then falls to the ground and opens its mouth. Josh isinside the mouth screaming with the monster as he slidesdown the monsters throat.

The monster then goes back into the hole and the cementaround the hole in the wall melts and fills the hole backin.

Zoey is still standing there in shock. She cant move atall.

There is silence for a moment, then a glass bottle besideher rolls off and smashes, snapping her out of it.

She looks around and then back at the hole in the wall.

ZOEYJosh?

She walks over to the book, which is torn up and lying onthe floor.

She picks up a page to the book and looks at it. Then shelets it go and it floats to the floor.

INT. BASEMENT STAIRWAY

She walks to the top of the stairs and twists the doorknob.The Door opens. She walks out.

INT. LOBBY

She walks out into the lobby and sits down on the sofa.

Zoeys cell phone rings, so she pulls it out of her pocketwith excitement and opens the phone and holds it up to herear.

Zoeys eyes widen with terror as she drops the phone.

She turns and starts to walk away from the phone, but thevoice gets louder on the phone.

The record player fades in the distance.

VOICEEight. Eight! EIGHT!! EIGHT!!!EIGHT!!!!

Zoey covers her ears, but the sounds keep getting louder.Then they get calm again.

She uncovers her ears and looks at her phone. It is turned

off. She still hears "Eight" coming from up the stairs.

Her eyes widen again as she slowly walks toward the stairs.

She looks up and sees a figure casting a shadow at the topof the stairs saying "Eight"

She turns her head and sees Josh standing there withbloodshot eyes and blood all over his face.

He grabs her face and opens his mouth and a bunch of wormscrawl out.

JOSHNINE!

Zoey lets out a horrendous scream.

INT. MR. GARRISONS YARD- DAY

Mr. Garrison opens the frond door to his house and walks.

The sound of the birds chirping and cars driving past him ashe waves makes him smile.

He opens his mailbox and pulls out a bunch of mail.

He stands there and looks at what he has gotten form themail man.

A magazine, some bills to pay, A YELLOW ENVELOPE WITH ASMALL SMEAR OF BLOOD THAT SAYS "CRUCIFY" WRITTEN ON IT.

Mr. Garrison looks around, thinking it is a joke.

Then He looks at the envelope again.

His eyes grow wide.

INT. GARRISONS KITCHEN

He walks into the kitchen and throws the other mail on thetable.

He looks behind him to look for his wife.

MR. GARRISONHoney? Are you home?

MRS. GARRISON(voice)

Im just leaving honey.

His wife walks out of a room in the back and walks up towardhim.

Garrison grabs the other mail and puts it on top of theenvelope, hiding it.

MRS. GARRISONDid you get the mail, sweetie?

MR. GARRISONWhat? Oh yeah the mail. Yeah. Imean no. No, no, no, no. Uh thisisnt our mail.

Mrs. Garrison looks at the mail and sees their name on it.

MR. GARRISONOh yeah, the newspaper is ours butthe mailman told me he left the

rest of ours at the office and Isaid I would take the paper and gopick up the rest of the mail laterand I took the Mister and MissesRamis mail and told him Id givethem their mail as well becausethey arent home and we are goodfriends.

His wife looks at him for a moment.

MRS. GARRISONIs something wrong, dearey?

MR. GARRISONNo, no, no... nothing is wrong Ijust forgot to grade these kidspapers and I have to have themgraded by Monday so I have to go tothe office and... Hey you dontwanna be late, to ya, honey?

MRS. GARRISONAre you okay?

MR. GARRISON

Im fine. I told you I need to goback to the school to get my paperslater.

MRS. GARRISONYou need those papers so bad thatyoure sweating?

MR. GARRISONJUST GO TO FUCKING WORK!

Mrs. Garrison looks at her husband and then walks out thedoor and slams it shut.

Mr. Garrison takes a deep breath to relax.

He takes the envelope and rips it open.

There is a lone tape inside it. Written in blood it says"Watch" and then a bunch of blood smears.

INT. MR GARRISONS LIVING ROOM

The tape goes into the VCR and Mr. Garrison turns on the TVand preses the PLAY button.

The video plays and shows somebody holding a cam corder

filming the students driving up to the house.

Then it cuts to them fighting the demons.

Then it shows a bunch of other two second clips of themencountering the evil.

It shows each one of them dead and then the TV goes turnsoff. Then it turns back on and is just a bunch of whitenoise.

Mr. Garrisons face looking at the blank TV screen isterrifying and saddening.

Then all of a sudden the tape ejects and melts into thefloor.

Mr. Garrison stands up and watches it disappear before hiseyes.

Mr. Garrisons stereo turns on, the lights are so brightthat he has to squint. "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash startsto play very loud on the stereo.

Then the closet door in the background opens up by itself.

Mr. Garrison doesnt even turn his head. He is toofrightened to look.

Footsteps can be heard scattering around upstairs.

Mr. Garrison walks over to the stereo and turns it off.

He looks up at the ceiling and hears that the footsteps havestopped.

Running water all of a sudden can be heard from upstairs.

The stereo turns back on and continues to play the samesong.

Mr. Garrison walks over to the outlet and unplugs thestereo, but the song gets louder.

Mr. Garrison backs up and turns toward the stairs.

INT. BATHROOM

Mr. Garrison opens the door to the bathroom and walks overto the bath tub very slowly.

He opens the shower curtain and sees the tub is filled with

blood.

He looks in the mirror and sees a reflection of a horriblybloody and disturbing face.

Mr. Garrison turns quickly and nothing is there.

The sink below the mirror turns on in the back by itself.

MR. GARRISONIm so sorry, Zoey. Im so sorry,kids.

Mr. Garrison walks out into the hallway and all of thelights in the house are off except one, in a room with thedoor closed shut. The only light visible is through thecracks of the door.

Mr. Garrison stands in paralyzed fear and looks straightahead down the long, dark hallway at the door.

MR. GARRISONTake me.

The stereo downstairs turns off instantly.

The door slowly opens by itself.

There is complete silence
