The Badgers are hoping for déjà vu in this meeting and the comparisons are eerily familiar. The top-ranked Buckeyes were led in 2010 by a Heisman-hopeful dual threat quarterback in Terrell Pryor. This year’s version of Ohio State has a top contender for the Heisman in J.T. Barrett. Back in 2010, Wisconsin came into the game ranked No. 18, looking to prove themselves in front of a national audience. This year, the Badgers have a pair of top- 10 wins on their résumé, but wins over Michigan State and LSU don’t look as good now as they did at the beginning of the year and they could use a marquee win. College Gameday will be on site, just like they were in 2010. But there are obvious differences from the past to the present. Wisconsin was one of the best offensive teams in 2010, but its strength has flipped to the defensive side of the ball. Both of these squads have great defenses this year, so expect this game to come down to who makes the fewest mistakes. Tennessee has been the most exciting team in college football through six weeks. The Vols have rallied back from double-digit deficits in five games, winning four and forcing overtime before losing in the other. Meanwhile, Alabama has gone about their business with just one hiccup, a 48-43 win over Ole Miss back in week three. When these two teams met last season, Alabama scored a touchdown with 2:24 left in the game to secure a 19-14 win over the Vols. This year, these teams have combined to score less than 30 points just twice, and it was Tennessee both times. Both the Tide and Vols have explosive offensives, but it’s the Alabama defense and special teams that is among the best in country. The Crimson Tide has scored nine non-offensive touchdowns this season and at least one in each game this season. The Bama defense and special teams have combined to outscore their opponent in three of the six games this year, giving the No. 1 team in the country a boost seen by no other team in the nation. Back in July, these two teams were projected to finish as the bottom two in the Pac-12 South Division. Today, they sit tied, along with Utah, atop the division standings at 2-1 in conference play. Both teams, however, will be without the quarterback they started with in week one. Sefo Liufau, arguably the best quarterback in Colorado history, was injured against Michigan in week three and his given way to freshman Steven Montez. The redshirt freshman Montez has performed admirably and earned Pac-12 Rose Bowl Game Player of the Week for his effort against Oregon. Arizona State came into the season with a three-man race at the quarterback position, but all three have seen action and been injured, giving way to freshman Dillon Sterling-Cole, who will be only the fifth true freshman to start for the Sun Devils. When at full strength, these two offenses are among the highest scoring in the country. Colorado has scored at least 40 points four times this year, while Arizona State has put up 40-plus three times. Expect a high-scoring affair in the high altitude of Boulder. CFN – Michigan vs. USC

CBS Sports – Michigan vs. Stanford

Bleacher Report – Michigan vs. Utah

FoxSports – Michigan vs. Utah

Sports Illustrated – Michigan vs. Utah

Rose Bowletin – Nebraska vs. Washington

Weekly projections from writers of several national publications on who they expect to see in the 103rd Rose Bowl Game presented by Northwestern Mutual.

Both polls remain the same at the top, but losses by No. 5 Houston, No. 9 Tennessee and No. 10 Miami has opened the door at the latter end of the top-10 for teams like Wisconsin, Nebraska, Baylor, and even a two-loss Ole Miss.

For the first time in nearly 60 years, the Big Ten has four teams in the top-10. Ohio State is the top ranked B1G team, but they have to play the three others over the next six weeks. The Pac-12 is down to just two teams in the polls after Colorado lost to USC last week, but Washington continues to impress and could find themselves in the top-four shortly.

The Associated Press Poll is made up of a panel of 61 sports writers and broadcasters from around the country.

The USA Today Poll is also known as the Coaches Poll and is selected by the Amway Board of Coaches, made up of 64 head coaches at Bowl Subdivision schools. All are members of the American Football Coaches Association.
