do for our church and our community.
Book of Remembrance Our book of Remembrance is in the Narthex. Please write in the names of your deceased loved ones. You don’t need to list names already included in prior years. The book will be placed near the altar, and at each Mass throughout November, Father Frank will pray for the repose of the souls of those listed.
Rosary for the Unborn Thank you to our Preaux Life group for organizing the respect life rosary held on October 6th. Kathleen Lambert-Oswald led the rosary, and we had nearly fifty people in attendance. Thank you to everyone who joined us in prayer as we continue to fight for the dignity of life. Please join us January 12th as we join efforts with our Knights of Columbus to pray the rosary for the unborn.

Human Trafficking Presentation
Our Preaux Life organization invited Danielle Van Haute, the Associate Director of Respect Life for the Diocese of Baton Rouge to present Human Trafficking: Hidden in Plain Sight last Tuesday. She provided the parish with vital information on how to recognize the signs of human trafficking. We are thankful for all the hard work the diocese has done to bring light to this issue. Thank you to everyone who helped as well as attended the presentation. If you would like to view the talk, a link to the presentation is available on our website.
Vocational View 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time – October 20, 2019 God will answer the prayers of those who cry out. Ask for men and women to respond to the call to service as priests and religious. If God is calling you, call or email Father Andrew Merrick at 225.336.8778, [email protected], or visit www.diobr.org/vocations.
Fundraiser for KC Ladies Auxiliary is THIS Weekend!
The Knights of Columbus along with Our Mother of Perpetual Help Ladies Auxiliary are having their fundraiser THIS Sunday in the Ott Center following the 10:30 AM Mass. They will be selling bowls of jambalaya for $5. Drinks and desserts will be available for a donation of $1 as well. It is on a first come, first serve basis. Feel free to sit and stay or take away!
Respect Life Month: Prison Ministry
“People in prison are still people, made in the image and likeness of God. No matter what someone has done, they deserve the opportunity to hear the Word of God and find the Truth of the message of Christ.”—from usccb.org website
Deacon Tommy Benoit and Deacon Shelley Joseph lead our prison ministry. They are always in need of volunteers to help them. We need women who would like to visit with female inmates on Wednesday nights from 7:30 PM until 8:30 PM. We need men to visit male inmates on Wednesdays from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
The inmates really look forwards to our visits. We have a communion service and often pray the rosary. If you feel called to this ministry or have any questions, please call the church office.
