of Christ. This week the candle is flickering for the intentions of Camille Brousseau. The Tabernacle Lamp is available as a memorial for a $5 donation per week. Consider having the lamp burn in memory of or the intentions of a
loved one. There are present openings available.
Dynamic Catholic Greetings Brothers and Sisters, One of the latest
books from Dynamic Catholic is "Your Amazing." It shows us how to increase our Catholic activity in
thought and deed for our everyday lives. The book helps us to get to know Jesus better and gives a
number of ways to increase our passion. We will be distributing this book after Masses next weekend.

Reboot or Download a New Driver? It's become evident that our approach to youth
ministry is not meeting the needs of the youth of our parish. Times have changed since we first
started the Youth Group many years ago and we want and need to change, too. ALL youth of our
parish are invited to join with other teens to provide some thoughts to help build
this new ministry from the ground up. Let's un-JOLT and go and grow!
We're starting over - looking to create a new Youth Ministry for our parish in the Fall and we
need teens' input. Let's brainstorm! What interests you? Come and share your thoughts
NEXT Sunday, June 9th, after the
10:30am Mass, in the teen room upstairs in the
Parish Center. We’ll provide food and
drink!
Youth Ministry Volunteers are needed to help with our ministry to middle and high school youth. If you would like to help, please contact Jeanne or Fr. Ray.
Thank You… To everyone who helped create our parish float for the Memorial Day Parade. It was
beautiful. Also, a big “thank you” to all the children, parents and parishioners who
rode on the float during the parade. Between the float and the delegation of the
Knights of Columbus marching in the parade, our parish was well represented.
Also, thank you to Adam Pio and Farmington Auto Park, LLC, for donating
the use of his flat bed and driving it through the parade.
Archbishop’s Annual Appeal 2019 Later in June, after years of study, two men are
scheduled to be ordained to the priesthood. During the years of preparation for their vocation, they were supported by family and friends – and by everyone
who made a gift to the Appeal. When you make a gift to the Appeal, you help meet the cost of priestly
formation and education. Please support our seminarians by making a gift to the Appeal
today. All funds contributed to the Appeal are used exclusively for the purposes outlined in the Appeal
literature at www.archdioceseofhartford.org. No Appeal funds
are ever used for legal fees or settlements.
Selection Process of Pastoral Council Members
Four names of the eight nominees for the Pastoral Council have been
prayed over and selected at the Thursday, May 23rd meeting. The Pastoral Council welcomes its newest members: John Miller, Bonnie
Miller, & Janice Brayne. Cathy Galvin fulfilled her 3-year term and chose to be nominated again for
another term. Her name was also chosen out of the eight. She will serve a 3-year term along with the
others who have been chosen. The Council would like to thank those who have fulfilled their terms and
have volunteered their time and talents to OLM. Thank you to Annemarie Tanski,
Sandee Sorel-LeDuc, Phyllis Luddy and Cathy Galvin, for giving of themselves unselfishly. Those chosen will begin to serve their term in September, 2019.
Sacrament of Baptism We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the
Sacrament of Baptism of your child. You may begin preparation even before your child is born. To begin the process, call Sue at 860-747-5451. The date of the Baptism
is scheduled after attending the Parent Preparation Program and
registering with OLM. Please note that Godparents must be confirmed and obtain a Sponsor Certificate from their
own Catholic parish. Baptisms normally take place Sundays after the 10:30am Mass.
Become an Altar Server Children who have received the
Sacrament of Holy Communion are invited to become altar servers.
The parents of those interested are asked to contact Fr. Ray.
Parish Informative Booklet We are in the process of developing an informational
booklet descripting the various organizations, committees, and ministries in our parish. Each grouping within our parish is asked to write a short description of their group stating why they exist and what their goals are. Once the
booklet is completed it will be made available in the church and parish center. It will also be given to new
parishioners. Submissions should be directed to Jo-Ann in the parish office. If you have any questions, please
contact Jo-Ann or Fr. Ray. Please call or email the office for a sample description to help you get started in writing
your group information.
Religious Education Volunteer Opportunities We are in need of volunteers. The success of our
religious education program depends on the dedicated individuals in our parish willing to share their time, talents
and faith with our parish children. The Mission of a Catechist is such an important one. It is a mission that has been given to the whole Church. A Catechist must be at least 18 years old, a practicing Catholic who has a love for children and/or teens and the desire to grow in
faith. Virtus training and background check are mandated by our Archdiocese. Teacher training and support is available to all our Catechists. Please call Jeanne at
860.747.6825 for additional information. Faith Formation fee for families of Catechists are waived as a small token of appreciation for your efforts to share
our faith with our parish children.
Pentecost Next Sunday is Pentecost. The term
Pentecost comes from the Greek. Pentekoste, which means 50 days
after Easter, commemorating the giving of the Holy Spirit to the Apostles. Today Pentecost Sunday is a celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit. It reminds us that having received the gift of the Holy Spirit in
Baptism and Confirmation, we are called to be witnesses to Christ to the ends of the earth.
Prayer for the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit O Lord Jesus Christ, Who, before ascending into
Heaven, did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish
Your work in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples,
deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may
perfect in my soul, the work of Your grace and Your love,
Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the
perishable things of this world and aspire only after the
things that are eternal, the Spirit of Understanding to
enlighten my mind with the light of Your divine truth, the
Spirit of Counsel that I may ever choose the surest way of
pleasing God and gaining heaven, the Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with You and that I may overcome
with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation, the
Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself
and grow perfect in the science of the Saints, the Spirit of
Piety that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable,
and the Spirit of Fear that I maybe filled with a loving
reverence towards God and may dread in any way to
displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord, with the sign of Your
true disciples and animate me in all things with Your Spirit.
Amen.
Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima June is a beautiful month to receive the statue of Our Lady

St. Anthony Bread
St. Anthony Bread will be blessed and offered to the members of the parish next weekend during each
Mass. We are grateful to the members of the St. Anthony Society for making the bread and offering it
to the parish. The blessing of the bread, on or near the Feast of St.
Anthony, which falls on June 13, dates to the 13th century. It reminds us of St. Anthony’s concern for
the poor, the forsaken and the hungry.
