IN PERSON - IN HOUSE WORSHIP AT SALEM
Our Council is aware how difficult this Spring and Summer have been not being able to worship together at Salem. In May, we put
forward “Reopening Guidelines” but have already had to modify this plan as situations change. As we are in unprecedented times, we ask
for your prayers and patience as we make decisions based on the best information we have at the time.
Our intention has been and will continue to be the well-being, safety and health of Salem’s staff and congregation. We will also continue
to do our best to be transparent and open with you. In God’s and Your Service, Pastor Trish
For more information about becoming a Member,
Associate Member or Friend of Salem, please contact Pastor Trish.

If your membership information has changed (address, email, phone number or membership status). Please call the church office to let us know.

LUTHERAN DISASTER RESPONSE HELPING WITH COVID-19
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected countless lives across the United States and around the world. There have been over 9,635,971 world wide, 2,486,046 of those cases in the U.S., and 487,627 deaths world wide,
with 124,644 of those deaths in the U.S.
Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is supporting ELCA synods and affiliated social ministry organizations around the U.S. in response to the pandemic, with attention to vulnerable communities, e.g. homeless, senior, and unemployed
populations. LDR is helping synods to support congregational feeding ministries, such as food pantries, hot meal delivery, and meal distribution. These ministries prioritize ethnic communities, underrepresented groups,
and those whose livelihoods have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Lutheran Disaster Response is also supporting partners around the world. Since January 2020 LDR-International has contributed over $1.3 million in 32 countries in response to the pandemic. For example they help with hygiene kits that
include soap, chlorine, and a bucket with a faucet. Additional hand-washing stations are being installed in public places. Some will receive food, hygiene and cleaning supplies, masks, and gloves.
How can we help? PRAY for the people who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic around the world.
May God’s healing presence give them peace and hope in their time of need.
GIVE. Contribute to Lutheran Disaster Response. You may write a check to Salem and then indicate on the memo line “Lutheran Disaster Response”.
On behalf of all those who will be helped through us, “Thank You”.

MEN’S FELLOWSHIP ACTIVITIES CANCELLED FOR 2020
Men’s fellowship activities, including the postponed luncheon, are cancelled for the rest of 2020.
The activities included men’s fellowship sponsored public presentations, outings and service projects. The men’s fellowship action team looks forward to
these activities in 2021 as men’s fellowship at Salem continues to be revitalized.
The men’s Bible discussion group will continue meeting via email on the second and fourth Monday of each month. When Salem opens for in person services and meetings again, we will arrange for the discussion
group to meet at Salem.
Questions or suggestions for men’s fellowship can be directed to Tom Adams (Bible discussion group) or
Dennis Zuelke (activities) at [email protected] or 218-363-2011.
