Room one overview

Not only is this the entry to our men’s department it is also the second half of the entrance to our entire store so we wanted to make a big impact on all customers as well as introduce our men’s shopper to his department. We incorporated our bodega fixture in this room and adapted the walls inspired from proto.

Room one Bodega and Form Details

We moved 216s out of the wall and onto a 4x4 connected to our bodega fixture increasing sales by 50% the first week.Highlighting 215s yet still outfitting with flannels and westerns made the floor feel more fresh. We increased sales in this area by 12%.

Room one Wall Details

With the walls we wanted to create a unique and impactful display yet keep it masculine at the same time. We incorporated mirrors, empty windows, picture frames, found wrought iron fencing, and an ornate headboard, all framed similar to proto giving it that overall rugged yet stylish tone. With the exception of a few 2x4s this entire room was created with already existing materials and cost us virtually nothing.

Room TwoBodega Fixture

We created a second Bodega-like fixture as the entrance fixture for our second room in an effort to tie our adjoining rooms together. We didn’t have another retail rack fixture so we simply used the thematic elements to connect the concepts. In an effort to save time and money we painted the border directly onto our flooring.

Levis and Graphic Tees

The Levis wall was simplified and all Levis were consolidated to this one area, freeing up our rear wall for a “lifestyled” wall as well as making it easier and more convenient for our men’s customer.

The Graphic Tees fixture was moved to the rear of the men’s department and the “closet” tee display was removed and replaced with a less obstructive display so as not to hide the shoe wall or the House wares department.

White string was wrapped tightly around the painted pipe and flange giving it both functionality and transparency. The colors chosen to compliment the walls behind and adjacent.

Rear Wall Macc and Shoes

Our final wall in men’s was cleaned up and simplified to create an impactful yet masculine display.

We created a “false” wall to display men’s shoes similar to proto but with a bit of color both to contrast the starkness of the white on white as well as to bring the two walls together visually. A small bench is planned for this wall as well. Casual shoes was up nearly 17%.

Our Macc presentation was adapted from proto using similar gridding hung on the wall between our levis and the final wall presentation.
